Can MovieFactory Burn A DVD With A ac3 Soundtrack?

Post by murrysdad »

I'm looking for software that will combine video or slides with a Dolby encoded 5.1 .ac3 track?

Will MovieFactory 7 SE do this. Is there a better choice. I don't need many bells and whistles as I am basically making DVD audio test disks.
Thanks

Hi

Sorry for the delay in our reply.
I do not have this program installed, the burner software is similar to the one used by Video Studio and that certainly supports Digital Dolby surround sound with typical video properties for Pal as:-

MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 25 fps
Upper Field First
(DVD-PAL), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 384 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 3/2(L,C,R,SL,SR)

I have no reason to believe that MF7 SE would not support those settings.

You could download the trial and test MF7 or indeed try Video Studio, although that trial does not support DVD burning capabilities

Hi Trevor and thank you.

I lucked out and found my bought copy of Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. It took me a while to remember how to get it to work it but I think I got it, to.

The program asks me if I want to update but I'm afraid to as a lot of times companies will take features out.

What would be very helpful would be a Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 manual. I can't even find a help menu. I will admit to being a bit of a Luddite when it comes to software.

Thanks again,
Steve

Hi Steve

There is a User Guide link on this post
viewtopic.php?f=88&t=46046

But hitting F1 usually access help files, I do not know if those are the same document

It’s a while ago now but did X3 provide the Movie Factory7 SE version. Or was that another version.
I know they mess up with the burner module providing a DVD 2010 burner module that did not work, the next patch then installed MF7SE, don’t know / cannot remember if that was version 13

Post updated

Yes i believe it was x3
if you want MF7se then you have to install the patch, the burner module 2010 is total rubbish.

Thanks Trevor - F1 didn't do a thing. I'm going to stick with what I know works...s
