Hi,
I want to know if there is a way to have .ufo files from Photo Impact in Corel Paint Shop Pro x9? I have many files that are .ufo that get merged when i try to open them in Paint Shop Pro X9.
Any help would be appreciated.
Mike

Re: .ufo files
I don't have X9, but I am able to open ufo files that are not flattened or merged, in X8. Just used open, selected my ufo file and it opened with all the layers.

Re: .ufo files
Thanks for your reply. I tried it again and had the same results. 'The file is merged in X9 and I can't select the individual objects.
I was perfectly happy with Photo Impact as I am not a power user and don't need all the bells and whistles that X9 has to offer. I loved Photo Impact until Corel got a hold of it. In Photo impact, i knew where everything was and I knew how to get the results that i wanted. I had some kind of technical difficulty and was told that Photo impact was no longer available and since i couldn't get my copy to work on the new computer, i decided to venture into a new program. Man, there are so many options and for a person like me, it is just too many, it's overwhelming. I'm no spring chicken (LOL) and I don't want to invest the time into learning all about X9 because i will never use it all. I am really bummed that they discontinued Photo impact.
Why would they make X8 available to open .ufo files then not do it in X9? Software developers need to think more of the "user" and less of what "they" think would be a good idea.
Sorry for complaining and thanks again for trying to help me.

Re: .ufo files
Your identical question in the PSP forum has just been answered by LeviFiction and myself. We had no trouble opening the UFO images you kindly uploaded to Dropbox, and all layers are there. As I said, make sure you are trying to select the individual layers with the Pick Tool and not the Pan Tool.mickey_marie_1955 wrote:The file is merged in X9 and I can't select the individual objects.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Ken,
Thanks to you and others for your help with my .ufo question. I am sorry that i double posted. I am new at this but I thought posting in two forums would help; since the question is part Photo Impact and part PSP. (Double the exposure!)
Thanks for being patient
