DVD MF7 add avi file to project "access denied"
G'day, when i start to make a movie project and i press "add video files", some of my avi files can be added, whilst others say "access denied",there is nothing wrong with the files. Why won't these certain avi files be accepted? (They are all rather small files, between 100mb to 300mb). Thanks

Re: DVD MF7 add avi file to project "access denied"
The problem is that there are over 800 different video formats which use the .avi extension. It is just a wrapper extension. So to get a better idea of exactly what might be causing this problem, we need to know the properties of the problem files. Since you can't open them in MF, do you have have any program -- such as the freeware GSpot -- which can detect which codec was used to make those files? Unfortunately, just looking at the Properties in Windows Explorer does not give the required information.

I installed GSpot and it says that the codec is H264,and the status is "codec(s) are not installed" How do I fix this file to be compatible with DVDMF 7? Thanks Ken

Did those avis come from a camera you own? And did the camera come with an installation disc? That would normally install any software, including the codec, necessary to operate the camera's output properly.
Otherwise, you might need to install the codec from a codec pack like K-Lite. Be careful, though, and just select the relevant codec(s) from that pack rather than just installing the whole thing. That can often cause more conflicts than it is worth...
