How to find out what level of OPEN GL a video card supports

Does anyone know where I can find out up-to-which-maximum level of Open GL a specific video card is supposed to be able to support ? I need to know so I can install some other 3D animation programs to work in tandem with (Cool) MotionStudio Pro 3D I am downloading. Their OPEN GL minimum system requirements vary, and I already have gotten unable-to-proceed-with-installation halts on some attempts - I need to know in advance if I'm wasting my time and find an earlier version in which the minimum system requirements aren't as high.
