Yes -- I strongly endorse the congratulations. This is an extremely useful tool for those who, like me, are novices in dealing with RAW images...

The ASG ist worth the price and the inside is filled with more information than in the BSG - so there is (in my eyes) no reason for a discount.

Actually, I've seen the free sample of the ASG and since I've also got the BSG, the simple comparison shows they greatly overlap. What's not very supprising when you take into account that ASF is a modernized Bibble Pro. Of course, there are changes, some even significant, but mainly under the hood and apart from picture importing and the catalog system, the workflow philosophy remains the same. And when you add the cost of printing (yes, there still exist people that prefer a hard copy to e-books), it'll turn out the price is quite high. At least where I live (Poland).

After a second thought (and check) a can say the more accurate title of the book should be 'A (sligthly) revised and updated Bibble Pro Survival Guide. Covers also the Corel AfterShot Pro". ASG and BSG are almost identical and the changes don't justify the price. It's like an update - usually, if not always, it's free. Contrary to an upgrade. Which ASG is not.

Doesn't your print shop give you a free upgrade? Or even better if ASG and BSG are nearly the same - use BSG instead

PS: Write and publish an (e-)book and you will see what its worth

Andreas, either I didn't put myself clear enough (which is possible since English isn't my mother tounge) or you missed my point. What I meant was ASG seems an update of the BSG survival guide (judging by the simple comparison of the free sample and the BSG I bought), not that AFS itself is the update of the Bibble Pro. On the contrary, I consider it an UPGRADE, for which I've already paid.
Neither I said I didn't want to pay for somebody's work but the full price for a product that differs from its previous version only by the simple word exchange (Bibble Pro -> AfterShot Pro), two or three notes added or deleted and a picture, is a bit high for me. Of course it can be that the sample is badly chosen and in fact it discourages the people that aleady have BSG from bying it but what other sourse of information the ordinary AFS user has to make his mind?

The sample is not meant to show the difference, but to show new buyers the general style.
It does have excerpts of another chapter added that was not in BSG though.

If you want a comparison, check the TOC, that is a better base me thinks.
.. that differs from its previous version only by the simple word exchange (Bibble Pro -> AfterShot Pro), two or three notes added or deleted and a picture...
One example removed (fixing botched HR), a few others added and updated, plus lens calibration, camera and printer calibration, UI customization, better sharpening explanation for WS, improved index, new plugins.

For someone who already has BSG getting the ASG really depends on personal preferences and method of information gathering and learning.
Some people learn better with guided information, others are very good at hunting down things online.
I personally think that all those who participate a lot in the forum will not gain much as nearly all information can be found here, whereas those that do not spend a lot of time online and need the information in one spot will find it quite valuable.

Hi,
thanx for the example pdf on your website. What I was missing though is an actual table of content or index to see what the book covers/offers. Could that be published maybe on your website too?
thanx for consideration!

Afx, I'm wondering if you plan to periodically update Chapter 8 of the guide regarding newer plug-ins? If yes, how would this be accomplished?
