Normally, I don't use any photo retouching software, Bibble-ASPro (with Z-perspector, Grad, Vigne, Brenda, and other plugins) is sufficient to make a perfect job!

Works well on notebook and B5 provided an inclusive solution. ASP seems to be lacking in a few areas that Bibble did well (catalog, looks) and the Bibble forum.

- Linux support

- support for social networks (facebook etc.) only as a plugin. (I hate "like" buttons...)
- a more configurable user interface (fonts/fontsize etc.) (maybe its a bug that "qtconfig" won't work with ASP.)

Re: AfterShot Pro - What do you really like?
- Linux support!
- Choice and flexibility – multiple catalogues (which will respect my folder structure), or simple work outside the asset manager, keeping history etc. Sidecar file is a great solution.
- Efficiency and speed -- Shortcut keys such as R, L, M, CTRL+R, copy/paste image settings.
- Full screen with focus on photos
- Selective editing. Easy to use. Actually usefull
- Look n feel like a tool. Focus on the photos.
- …Linux support!

Re: AfterShot Pro - What do you really like?
- Once again the Linux support
B5 run munch more better on Linux than on Windows! it might be the same with ASP
- I am use to it , so processing picture are quick and much more efficient than any other prgm
- it's light compare to some other prgm
- the capability of having 3rd parties plugins, which for me is also extremely important.

Re: AfterShot Pro - What do you really like?
What I like above all other features of this program:
This feature made me dump Lightroom and buy an ASP license
Please don't ever even think about changing these features!
- the ability to work from the file system, one is not forced to use the catalog / library
- supporting standard Windows drag-and-drop so that one can pass images from a DAM application to ASP.

Enjoy!

Re: AfterShot Pro - What do you really like?
- Linux, Linux, Linux (can't say that often enough)
- Non-destructive editing
- Touch-Up, RAW conversion and asset management in one application
- Asset management that allows me to keep my current file structure
- Layers, image versions, plugins
- Speed
- Usability
Oh and last but not least an affordable price. Even if I find an application really good, if it is too expensive, I tend to stick to open source alternatives or home brew solutions, however clumsy they may be. If an application comes at a good price, I tend to be a quick buyer.

- Linux support.
- Nondestructive Editing.
- Regions/Layers.
- The ability to catalog images stored off-line (OTOH, Catalogs is an option, not compulsory -- that's great, too)
- Third party plugins
- Speed (with the exception of regions, everything runs well in my aging hardware -- which I don't intend to replace any time soon)

Re: AfterShot Pro - What do you really like?
Linux
Multi-machine license
Batches - which allow me to output direct to the formats required by the photo printing service I use
Ability to load printer profiles - so I can soft-proof knowing I am looking at the results I shall get back from the printers
Plugins
All of these were features I loved in B5 Pro as well. Corel has bought a superb foundation stone for future software greatness.

Re: AfterShot Pro - What do you really like?
Layers & Regions (if not for this, I would probably be an LR user now)
3rdParty Plugins
Customizable tool tabs
Choice of using file system or catalogs (or both!)
Enough flexibility to fit any workflow that includes other DAM and editing software

Re: AfterShot Pro - What do you really like?
I like everything about it that I liked in B5, I don't (yet) see anything new. In fact, much was removed that is sorely missed, especially with regards to the catalog. I still don't understand that major step backward... Hopefully these removed features will be added back, or something equivalent will be added instead.
So, I like what I always liked about B5:
+Linux Support
+Multi-threaded
+Great Plugins
+non-destructive editing
Problems/Bugs I noticed:
-On the RPM installer for linux, the libstdc++ package is missing, so it was a bit of a headache to install
-On the Color Correction panel, the Luminance slider is broken -- it doesn't do anything.
-With B5, a double click on a thumbnail would enlarge the image, a double-click on the enlarged image would take you back to thumbnail view, on AFS-pro, it instead toggles between enlarging the image and shrinking -- very infuriating!
-I really miss some of the B5 plugins that were out, like zblur, Harry, Sally, Pixie and a few others... I hope those come over soon!
