Gif Animator fading initial image in tween

Hi, I'm trying to do the following - I have a silhouette picture with some text underneath, and I want to make an animated gif which first displays the picture, and then fades the text in beneath it. So I made one gif which is just the picture, and another which is the picture with the text underneath.
I inserted the two gifs into Gif Animator, and then tried to 'tween' between them, but Gif Animator fades the picture in the first gif for some reason, in the first half of the frames (I used twenty frames at 5/100ths of a second frame delay). I don't understand why it's doing this - the picture appears exactly the same in the second gif.

On the right hand of the screen it displays seven versions of the image (why seven I don't know, I have 23 frames!). As I move along the images at the bottom of the screen, I can see that they have an increasing transparency value, so I've turned this down to zero for each frame, manually. I was just wondering why it did this in the first place, as I don't want to have to manually edit each frame every time.

It's been way too long since I've used GIF 5. However there is someone that really knows GIF 5, and he has a website with a bunch of tutorials. Have a look and you probably have it worked out in no time...
