Aftershot will not display Canon T7i RAW photos

my latest Paint Shop Pro can open my Canon T7i Raw photos, however on AfterShot after selecting the photo (CR2) from the open option, and it returns to the main screen, nothing shows. Doing some research on the net, that if you change the Canon type on the EXIF to another, it will work. First haven't a clue how to do this, and second why shouldn't Corel provide this allowance for all RAW files, or at least add one for this camera? When I open this RAW file on PSP, at the bottom it suggests using Aftershot for RAW files, but doesn't allow them from this camera???
