Export/Batch Export rotated images

Post by libiomjobs »

I have been trying to figure this out, and a perusal of the for a (including Google search) has not produced an answer. I have a collection of images scanned from slides and negatives, and many of them are rotated ninety degrees one way or the other. No problem editing, with the rotate buttons and whatnot, but when I export the images, they are all back to their original orientation. Can someone tell me if I am missing a setting somewhere?

I think I figured this out. It appears that I had previously rotated the images in question when I was browsing through the folder in Windows Explorer. The interesting bit here is that AfterShot correctly interprets the orientation metadata to display the image during editing, but then incorrectly fails to include the orientation in the exported file. Should this be classified as a bug?
Steps to reproduce:
1. Scan an image
2. Use Windows Photos (Win 10) or Preview to change the image's orientation
3. Open image in AfterShot and select any Export option to a new file
4. New file is created with the original orientation

Note that if I use AfterShot to rotate the image, the exported file is oriented correctly.
