Hello,
So, I have problems sharing my photos and catalogs between Windows and XP.
I save my photos on an external drive. They lay into the \Photos\NEF\ folder, in individual folders.
This disk contains another folder named \AfterShot\Catalogues\, which contains the so-called catalogs.
From whithin Windows XP, I can see this :
G:\Photos\NEF\20150312\195723250.nef, etc.
and
G:\AfterShot\Catalogues\Général (Général being the name of one catalog)
while Ubuntu would display
/jean-luc/media/Photos/NEF/20150312/195723250.nef, etc.
and
/jean-luc/media/AfterShot/Catalogues/Général/
If I try to follow the catalog online help section, I am totally lost.
I absolutely can't understand how I can manage to conect my disk to a ubuntu machine and access the catalog I have created under XP.
According to the explanations, I ought to import the catalog and the pictures a second time.
Moreover, they describe two fields within the procedure (Note and Catalogue), but I can see a third one (Chemin local).
How exactly do I have to do so as to share my catalogs between windows and Ubuntu ?
And how can I delete, afterwards, the settings for the relative paths ?
Thanks in advance,
J.-L.

Re: Catalogs with relative path
Never really used this myself. Experimented once with it when writing the ASG.
The idea is to create a catalog on one system and then open it on the other and use the movable path function to tell AS about the different base mount point for the tree where the images reside.
cheers

Re: Catalogs with relative path
Yes, this I did understand.
What I still can't understand is the way - and if - it actually works.
The explanations from the help seem to me all but finished.
I'm going to give it a try with a usb stick with only a couple of photos - not the 15000+ on my disk - and try to understand how it really works.
I must too find the way to delete the information about relative paths afterwards, as it seems it can't be deleted from within ASP.

J.-L.
