Seemst this issue may have been around prior to the introduction of the CL Code.
I reported in the plugin forum of similar problems when it was first released and the response from SP was not that encouraging or helpful - pity as a bug reported, whilst not evident on the authors machine, was certainly on mine and now it seems surfaces on others. I guess plugin writers are not that enamored with AS to spend valuable time debugging.

My current major AS concern is that performance of the latest beta is considerably slower than the release version, again on my system. Forget OpenCL as that seems a complete waste of development time for marginal gain but to have the next release slower than before is silly. Again this is on my system, others report different timings which apparently show no degradation.
Please AS developers shelve OpenCL for now and concentrate on known bugs, camera compatibility and IQ. This software has loads of potential but improving performance with OpenCL seems bottom of the list since AS is already very fast compared with competitive s/w. Regardless I live in hope!

I've just switched back to 1.1.0.10 and find the Nuance issues exist there as well.
Cleaned the Cache and deleted associated xmp's, tried again with same results.

I reported it to Sean a long while ago, he replied he would have looked into it. I guess it's time someone else reports the bug

White balance adjustment problems for my Pentax K-5 have NOT been resolved. I pointed this bug out endless months ago, brought it up repeatedly in this forum, remained very vocal about it the whole time, and it still has NOT been fixed after all this time!!!

I give up...

Does somebody know whether here is a progress to get an official release?
The beta release of ASP was 6 weeks ago.

I got my Sony Nex-6 3 weeks ago and there is no raw-support in ASP (beta) at this time :(

I got a 37% speedup with OpenCL enabled.

My system is:
Intel Core i7 860 (quad core 2.9GHz)
16GB RAM
Linux (Fedora 17 64-bit)
GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB RAM

I installed the Nvidia binary drivers and the 32-bit OpenCL libs from xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686

I converted 37 Nikon D3 RAW files to JPEG

OpenCL off
0.814 seconds per image

OpenCL minimum
0.612

OpenCL low
0.594

OpenCL normal
0.599

OpenCL high
0.586

So basically a 37% speed increase by enabling any form of OpenCL and virtually no difference between minimum to high. It crased once on minimum but I restarted and it worked fine.

Now, now, Marbly, don't get carried away! The title of this thread mentions the START of the beta, not its END  .

I hope for a Release Candidate soon, but my parents taught me not to look under the Christmas tree until the appointed day. Between fixing all the problems which have been discussed in this forum, and the need to cover new Sony and Canon cameras - perhaps one or two from Nikon as well - before the next batch of announcements, I imagine the development team have their hands full.

I wonder whether we should read anything into the fact that Corel wasn't mentioned in the list of exhibitors at CES 2013 when I looked the other day?

There hasn't been a new Beta since October. Corel has not commented here or on Facebook or anywhere about when new Betas or release candidates might be forthcoming. In fact, all we've seen from Corel are fire sales of old products. I guess we shouldn't expect a great year for this company in terms of revenue and their filings will tell us everything about the future viability of this product. I for one am hoping Google brings out some NIK software for Linux so I can be free of this company.

No, Al, there won't be any filings. I checked the Canadian registry, and the last filing (in 2010) was to take advantage of some SEC rule which exempts companies from the US filing regulations. No doubt a consequence of the take over by Corel Holdings, which as a limited partnership is outside the filing rules.

Better stop now before I go off topic....

one of the saddest things about this for me is ill have to go back to using windows. i wasn't believing any of the hype from before about aftershots downfall but I now believe I'm kidding myself.

This company is pretty bad for customer relationship.

I thought I would contact corel directly to see if I could get some sort of response but I can't find anyway to.

If I log into corels site there is a contact support link but seems to be no way to email them. anyone have any idea?
