Erasers/Brush Tools
Sometimes in PSP, I want to remove backgrounds behind, or more precisely, around, objects. While there are a lot of very specific tools to use for erasing, there seem to be only 2 general utility tools: the square, and the circle. But a lot of the time, the objects I'm erasing around do not have only straight or concave edges. My question is: Why are there no concave tools, or triangular tools? When I'm soldering, I don't always want a round tip or a flat tip on my iron; sometimes I need a pointed or angled tip, and there are plenty of tip styles available. Leaves and doilies and sunbursts are all great brush tips if you need something that specific, but I think we could use more utilitarian brushes in the toolbox.

Re: Erasers/Brush Tools
I must be missing something. As far as I can see, I can modify an existing brush tip, but I don't see a way to create a triangular shape from scratch. Could you point me in the right direction?

That video shows the two different kinds of brush heads you can create. One is just saving brush settings as a preset. The other is to create an image, and turn that image into a brush head.
I personally can use the the round and square brushes to erase areas without needing to create custom triangular brushes. It's just a matter of mixing erasing with un-erasing to get those corners. It's also possible to just use the thickness and rotation settings (or brush variance if you have a pen tablet) to target difficult areas.

Re: Erasers/Brush Tools
Thanks, I'll check it out.
It's not that I can't get into the corners with the existing tools, but it can be so time-consuming. It's just a workflow issue; some different shapes would make certain things faster.

Re: Erasers/Brush Tools
Sure, but a lot of times it's not completely accurate. In addition, sometimes I want to repaint in those hard-to-reach corners. I appreciate the suggestions though.

Re: Erasers/Brush Tools
Have you tried the square brush tip eraser rotated? That's what I use to get into corners - or I enlarge the image and use the magic wand to select and delete one pixel at a time.
