HI,
I had the PSP 2019 trial and uninstalled it before the trial was up. I then installed
the PSP 2020 trial. With PSP 2020 I can only save a file of type pspimage. If I attempt to save
with any other file type PSP 2020 crashes. In most cases the file is actually written to disk
with the correct file type but the program crashes. I never had this problem with PSP 2019.
Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Before I or anyone else could answer we would neeed more information. Are you operating in Adjust , Edit or Photography mode.
Does it crash in all three modes.
Are you in Essentials mode? Does ut crash there as well?
If you create a new document in Edit Complete mode and immediately save that as a jpg, does it crash then as well?

Note with PSP2020 I was using a complete workspace(never use anything else) in edit mode.
I uninstalled PSP2020 and ran the clean up tool for 2019 and 2020. This successfully cleaned

With PSP2019 I have no trouble saving in any format (especially psd). I also have no
trouble with plugins. The ability to save in various formats and having plugins run correctly
are the keys for me. So I'm going to stick with PSP2019 and possibly revisit an upgrade
when PSPS2021 is released. As for PSP2020 no thanks

I have the same problem.
One of my members can't save anything in .abr or .psd format. When trying, PSP 2020 crashes.
Tried it myself in both 32-bit and 64-bit and get the same problem. PSP crashes.
In Save as > Options there is no .abr option anymore

Sorry for being not clearer. .abr is the extension for a photoshop brush. .psd is photoshop image format. I just noticed I can't find .abr in PSP 2019 either. Or X7 for that matter. That explains that one. Never used it myself, so I'll ask the member what they did. But the problem also occurs with saving as .psd format. And that is in the list
You would normally find it under File > Save as > Options.
PSP 2020 crashes when trying to save an image as a .psd. And I've set default app for .psd as PSP 2020.
You don't have the option File > Preferences > File Format Associations either anymore. That has been replaced by a notice that you have to set your default app in Windows > Settings > Apps itself.

I re-launched PSP2020 and opened the psd. It opened the image as three separate images; a background image of the original image, the raster layer I added and another background image. when I viewed the raster image that I added I found it to be totally black when originally it was transparent.

I also have this issue but I can save as jpg but when doing save or save as it defaults to pspimage. Is it possible their last update is the issue before that I did not have this issue or the screen issue

since then I now can no longer save jpg image and if I close program I cannot reopen using shortcut or the exe I have to reboot and patiently wait for it to launch.

I have no idea about your pspimage/jpg problems. But if you cannot reopen after closing, it always pays to open Task Manager > Background Processes to see if an element of PSP is still running there. If it is, simple right click on it and select End Task. Then you should be able to reopen without rebooting.
