Did PSP Used to have a version saving option...

Post by kaymann »

I seem to remember PSP had the ability place a version number automatically with every Cntrl save or something similar. Or is my memory faulty?

The only one I'm familiar with is the Options button in the Save As dialog box that allows you to set the version compatibility for pspimage files.
PSPX ver. 10.10, PSPX9 ver. 19.0.0.96, PSP2021 ver. 23.1.0.27, PSP2020 ver. 22.2.0.8 2019 ver. 21.1.0.22, and & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX2 thru PSP2018 owned but not installed

Kathy_9 is correct, the Options button in the Save dialog will let you pick the file format options.

I don't know if your memory is faulty or not though.

Ctrl + F12 - Save Copy As

Save Copy As - Remembers different parameters than Save As does.

So if I run Save As and save for PSPX3 format. Then I run Save Copy As and save for PSP9 format. Save Copy As will always save with PSP 9 format until I change it. And Save As will always save with PSPX3 format until it's changed.

So, the answer to your question is Yes.

if you setup Save Copy As with one specific format then yes hitting Ctrl + F12 will always save for that version of PSP.
