Wow, I'm so glad that X5 now has Jpeg import.

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Service Pack 2 is available
I just tried several fonts and am getting excited.
Is the extra space but with the text tool fixed? Anyone still seeing it?

Well, I'll be d*d!
I entered each line of 72pt Bauhaus93 text on its own layer, then used the Pick tools option to horizontally center the text in the image. Placed guidelines on the resulting edges of the text, and measured the centering -- it's within one or two pixels (on a 1,000 px wide image). Don't remember X3 or X5 coming that close:

I think there's a certain well-known place that just froze over!

Re: Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Service Pack 2 is available
Just to follow up my previous post -- there is at least one font that still exhibits the "extra space" at the end of a line:
I created an image 64px by 64px, and typed in a capital "X" at 20pt. Then I used the Pick tool's "Horizontal Center" option on the text. Here are the results (at 500%):
Adobe Garamond Pro:

Adobe Caslon Pro:

Times New Roman:

Tw Cent MT:

This is much better than pre-X5 SP2 results, and is the acid test for me because it was when trying to create 64px by 64px icons that I first noticed the problem.

Thanks for the heads up.
Adverts for Corel products when you close PSP don't bother me.

Looks like it's been fixed. I didn't see it in several tests.LeviFiction wrote:I just tried several fonts and am getting excited.
