Re: Ulead Video Editor 8.0
Welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately, I am not totally sure which program you are referring to, since AFAIK there was never a Ulead program called 'Video Editor 8.0'. I suspect you mean Video Studio 8.0. If so, it was realeased about 8 years ago, and has been succeeded by many more recent versions. Version 15 (X5) was released recently. IIRC, there were update patches at the time for VS 8.0, but there will be no further updates of that specific version.

Re: Ulead Video Editor 8.0
as with Ken, VS 8 was released even before the development of Windows 7 was started. If you want to try out VideoStudio pro X5, I recommend that you download and install the trial version. You can go to http://corel.com/videostudio to download the trial.

OK - now we know which software I will move this to the correct forum.
you should note that MediaStudio Pro 8 will NEVER be updated - Corel no longer make or support this programme.

For a programme that they "no longer make or support" they are sure as heck still selling it on their website.BrianCee wrote:OK - now we know which software I will move this to the correct forum.

On www.corel.com search for Media Studio Pro and you will find a link where you can purchase MSP 8 for $399.00 as a download? If Corel is going to continue to sell a program at the very least they should support it on current operating systems.
With the death of my last XP machine, I am finally having to give up on Corel and will either move to Avid, Adobe or Sony for video editing.
RIP MSP, I knew ye well.

Re: Ulead Video Editor 8.0
I hear and understand what you're saying ShadowdDancer. However it's been several years now since Corel has decided to trash can MSP 8. I see that you can do a search and find where to purchase MSP8, however Corel does not have it as part of their normal website navigation. Why sell it if they no longer support it??? One simple answer.... $$$$$, sad but true.

Re: Ulead Video Editor 8.0
I also use Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0 and wish Corel would update it for compatibility with Windows 7.
I tried the compatibility mode in Windows 7 and it wouldn't work.
With these sort of software, it is hard to learn things for a new version and some of us don't have the time to learn a new interface.
Also obviously don't want to pay 80 dollars for a new version, when the old one has all that I needed ...

Re: Ulead Video Editor 8.0
I use VirtuelBox to run Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0. on Windows 7. You need a copy of Windows XP, that means when installed on VirtuelBox, XP ask for your serialnumber for XP.
I had change from my old XP machine to VirtuelBox on Windows 7, and it run much faster on VirtuelBox, depending of cource of your aviable ram on Windows 7.
I saw a post on this forum, where there was a step by step procedure to use VirtuelBox.
Here you can try VirtuelBox http://www.virtualbox.org/

Hi
Go to the Microsoft site and download the XP mode http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... ws-xp-mode install it and open XP mode. You can then install Media Studio Pro. I've done this and run it successfully.
Cheers.................Tony
