Encoding MPEG-2 for DVD

In my efforts to get the best quality from my HD mt2 files edited in VS to a Standard DVD I cam across this link:

http://people.csail.mit.edu/tbuehler/video/MPEG-2.html

Many of the settings are not present in VS but some of the basic settings are explained in detail.
I followed most of the recommendations in this article and was delighted with the results.

These tips will also apply to MediaStudio.
I will move this to the General Information Forum

Many of those "missing options" can be activated by a software tweak
Please view MSP/VS/MF: Encode MPEG's from clips with fast motion

(VideoStudio and MovieFactory users can activate the advanced settings by following the instructions in this link )
