That's what I think to. Just give us the opportunity to apply both. I mentioned this before. The new way of applying transitions may be quicker and handier but I've lost a few methods of editing which cannot be done now in MSP8. Or it will cost me much more time.

To much time to explain my methods but for now I will continu using MSP7 next to MSP8.

Hi Steve,

I see,

Well then the world isn't as small as it was starting to look.

Excuse the mix-up.

Terry Stetler wrote:Here's the procedure for doing an inter-track transtition between Video1 and Video2, though it'll work anywhere;

1. create a blank *.tga with transparancy. That's right: nothing in it but the alpha channel. You can also download mine below. Either way archive this for later re-use.
Hi Terry,

Well, I suppose I should be happy with myself. I'd already been doing what you suggested for a while as it's often essential as I see it ;-)

However, I don't use a transparent .tga - I don't think there's a need for it. You can just add a Color clip and set it to 'Pure Color' (black). Then in the Transition dialog set the background color using the Eye Dropper tool to the same black of the clip.

Of course, you can then just copy/paste this same color clip around the place to avoid the drudgery of setting the two things mentioned, every time. And this way avoids having to link to any files on your machine.

I haven't come across any disadvantages over using your .tga method yet. Maybe there's a gotcha for me one day.

I hope my terminology is right, I don't have MSP8 with me at the moment.
