how to turn off moving text? VS 2019

Post by hawaiilovesart »

so I made the mistake of clicking on the T and used one of the moving texts and now I cannot get it to turn off, the only text I can get are the ones that move and spin and whatnot. had to close the program to get it to stop so how can that function be turned off once it is on? thanks! VS 2019

The “T” option is a manual approach to setting the text animation
Double click the clip on the timeline to open the Options Panel

From the Edit panel - Here we can set various font options, plus Text Backdrop, Border / Shadow / Transparency
From the Attributes panel – we can apply animation options, to remove simply deselect Apply
There are several presets we can use, the drop down menu giving 8 choices
Then selecting the two “TT’s” icon opens another small options panel to fine tune the pre-set.

The text editor tends to default to the last settings used, very useful when we wish to create the same effect.

I would suggest that once you have the basic text with no animation you drag to the library to create a copy
Then if you wish to start with a clean sheet its just a matter of using that, in fact you can save any effect that way.

I have used Open the attached VSP project and follow the details.
Plain text clip sample.zip
But I am not able to follow the advice in this post to move back from animated text
Double clicking an animated title clip in the title track in VS 2020 Ult does not take me to the Options Panel and Edit panel but to Title Options. The nearest I get to what is shown is via selecting the Motion option and then deselect enable text animation tick box. But doing this does not remove motion from the title.

Kenneth
The topic here is referring to Video Studio 2019, you are using VS 2020
VS 2020 was updated providing a different panel
The attached images should make this clearer
I have also updated the topic title to include 2019

Thanks for the reply Trevor. I am a touch frightened to pursue this because I think I am missing out on something here.
The image you posted is indeed what I see in VS2020 . As I described , double clicking an animated title clip in the title track in VS 2020 Ult does take me to the Title Options panel. You have shown a non animated title ,what I want is the same as the original poster-that is to return from an animated title to a static one. So what I am asking for is when you have an animated title in the title track what is the best way to return to a static title situation in VS 2020.

Kenneth
Title animation/effects and are applied via a variety of options, we have to remove those choices.
If you view the list, Font, Styles, Border, Shadow, Backdrop, Motion, Effects.
Select each option in turn to see if any has been applied to the text.

Font – set to your desired font, size and colour
Styles – can be ignored
Border – deselect options and set all to zero (0)
Shadow – choose the first “A” option – NO Shadow
Backdrop – Choose None
Motion – Deselect Apply
Effects – Delete / remove any filter showing here.

Now you have plain text

Note that there are some 3D type titles that are a little more complicated having a Mov video embedded to the clip, if you see a "2" on the timeline clip then it is a 3D Title
I think 15 in all were introduced with 2019. The last 15 in the library list.

I hope I understand what the process is you are following and what you want the end result to be.

I understand you clicked on a title in the Tiles library, adding to the timeline. However, while you want the title style as shown in the library, you don't want the animation, just the static end result of the animation.

If this is correct, in VS2020 and VS2021:
1. Double click the aninated title on the timeline; the edit mode is displayed.
2. Along the left side there is a verticle set of buttons; click on Motion.
3. In the Motion screen, deselect (uncheck) Apply.
4. Click anywhere outside of the edit panel to exit that panel.

Done. It will now be a static title.
