I always install the most recent version of VS on my main editing computer and have the last version installed on my laptop. I do most of my work on my main PC because it is more powerful, but use my laptop for editing on the road. I have never had a backward compatibility until now. I have 2020 install on my PC and 2019 on my laptop. I cannot open a VSP project created on my PC on my laptop. I don't get an error or anything, it simply does not open the file.
Is there anything I can do other than upgrading my laptop to 2020, which I would rather avoid because 2020 seems to be a lot heavier on resources than 2019.
Cann not open VSP created with 2020 with 2019 version. Help.

Re: Cann not open VSP created with 2020 with 2019 version. Help.
No version of VS has ever been able to open a project made in the format of a later version in an earlier version. However, before VS 2020, you could use Save As to save a later version project in the format of one of up to three immediately previous versions of VS. So, for example, a project made in VS 2018 could be Saved As a project which could be opened in either VS X10, X9 or X8.
For some unknown reason, that was removed from VS 2020, so you can now only open a VS 2020 project in another copy of VS 2020.

Thanks for the replies. I really wish they would not do this, I realize it is force people to buy the newer program. Marketing engineers, Can't live with them, and you can't kill them. LOL!
