Multicam editor problem in VS2020 - NVIDIA Record - SOLVED -

Post by cybernick »

ı really do not understand but nowadays I started facing issues back to back in VS2020.
My Mutlicam editor was working fine up to yesterday.
Suddenly started to fail. When I play for preview in order to choose the correct camera, all previews remains stack in the first flame. But the audio is working. I can scrub but no playback.
To record the isssue and post here I tried to record the screen with NVidia record . As soon as I hit ALT+f9 the preview started working.
So I can edit multicam only while recording my screen. I tried everything.
-Enable/disable HW accl.
- Nvidia/intel codec switch
- Enable/disable smartproxy
- Testing with sample files of VS2020

nothing changed. In order to have it working I need to record my screen. :( Any suggestions please?

To show you what I mean I record a video with my phone.
As you can see initially MCE does not work. When I open OBS and preview the VS2020 MCE windows it started to work.
Please check the video.
Anyone else has the same issue?

PS: I have checked. I do not need to preview even the windows in OBS. Having OBS open is enough. Strange.

Hi Nick
Can you check your project properties from the main timelines
Set those to use the same properties as your Camera 1 video file, it is the timelines frame rate that is used by MCE
I checked using the two samples but did not have a problem even with different frame rates set.

The samples are probably not the right files to test MCE, do you have your own recordings that can be used to sync the audio

I have my own files. But the issue is file independent.
How can you explain that it starts working right after I open OBS in the background ?

To try replicating the problem i have installed OBS just in case OBS is conflicting with VS
I have no problems in using the MCE

As for your own files
I was more concerned that the MCE timeline frame rate was identical to the video files being used
So what are your frame rates, at least then I can try to replicate

If MCE was working for you prior to 19th, what has changed on your pc?

You may have to consider re-installing VS

Strange the only change is Windows 10 and GPU driver updates.

In any case it seems that k-lite solved my laggy interface problem (thanks to you). For MCU i will be opening OBS for a while. I am expecting 2021 to make a reinstallation.

Yesterday suddenly after I update the nvidia driver to 461.40 the problem solved. Now MCE is working directly.

you have had other strange issues with other parts of VS, have those issues been fixed with the graphics update.

The laggy interface solved with k-lite codec pack. Also abnormal crushes decreased a lot. So I strongly suggest everyone to install k-lite.
Muddy mp4 render solved by selecting Intel HW acceleration. I will test NVidia with new drivers.
Multicam solved with the new driver.

I would like to provide an update. It has nothing to do with my GPU driver update.
I have not realized that my antivirus subscription is expired and it was deactivated.
I came up that the reason was bitdefender antivirus shield. If you deactivate the shiled MCE works fine.
If you have enabled it only works if OBS is up and running.

Strange. Worth to note.

thanks for the update, I guess there will be settings in Bitdefender to correct the false positive.
