Re: Flash animation
Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone here is always so helpful. I attempted the conversions suggested and here is what happens.
I have a computer running windows 7 and has the same version of VSX9 installed and still has flash player. I used the program on this computer to convert the swf files into mov and wmv files. When I try transferring these to the windows 10 computer the VSX9 program gives me a 'file mismatch' error and will not recognize the mov or wmv files. The VSX9 program on the windows 7 computer does recognize these mov and wmv files and plays them as expected.
Any suggestions?

Re: Flash animation
Do those converted files also play Ok using say media player or VLC?
Regarding the mov files, you should check to see that you have the quicktime codecs installed: see these forum links

Re: Flash animation
As a workround I changed my PC clock setting it to 01/01/2021
I do not know if there is an impact on the rest of my pc when reverting the time
It is your decision as to whether you do this, that my disclaimer
I was then able to use Video Studio 2019 to import the SWF
I can now render / convert the SWF to Mov Alpha retaining the transparency
The files are a little on the large size compared to SWF
I could not import to 2020, no idea why or the difference between 2019 and 2020
Revert the clock back to auto and the swf cannot be edited using 2019

Re: Flash animation
THANK YOU!
This is the solution that worked for me. Reset the clock. Open v2019, import SWF and Share as MOV with Alpha channel. When clock reset then all MOV files can act and behave like the original SWF. This is a huge PAIN IN THE ***. Adobe sucks and Corel is not that better for knowing this DROP DEAD USE date was going to happen, yet allowed me to purchase and download EXPIRING file types without providing replacements - or notices of pending issue. This is going to take hours to convert all the SWF's I've created and been using for decades.

Re: Flash animation
Here how to decrease file size and keep, or not to keep, the alpha.
* If you want to keep the alpha you can make a file ~1/3 the mov file size
1- Install the free GV HQX codec from here https://www.edius.net/hqx.html
2- Open the mov file with the free and best VirtualDub2 https://sourceforge.net/projects/vdfilt ... sion%2020/
3- Export it (F7) in AVI HQX codec 4- Configure it in RGBA Pixel Format: RGBA32
Export. Done.
5 VS will decode the file and the alpha channel.
** If you want really tiny ~kb but with no alpha, grab shotcut portable https://shotcut.org/download/
load the mov file into it and export as vp8 webm file. VS wont read VP9... nor the alpha.
In VS, import the small webm file and in blending mode set and correct the keying.

Re: Flash animation

Vs2021 can load play and use swf's with no apparent issues * In W10 set date to Jan 1, 2021.
** open VS (any), load your swf files or IP that uses them.
*** Set date back to "today",
****Continue your work in VS.
## Just remember to repeat that upon a VS crash...
This might set obsolete the need to swf conversions but, if one prefer that then VS can do so
* load the swf and share it as webm
** Keep webm with audio (even it has non) as video only, will crash VS... a bug.
***The webm file could be loaded as video mask if needed. ** Here in blending mode ## VS2021 install more than 60 swf files.

Re: Flash animation
Adi
when i reverted the time the only program to be able to run SWF was X2019
2020 and 2021 would not play SWF
It was 2019 that i used to convert the files to Mov Alpha
A recent try and non of my programs would play Swf
I will give it another go to make sure that the GV HQX has changed things.
Still cannot play the GV HQX version with Video Studio.

Re: Flash animation
All my screenshots are from VS2021 this morning,
I did so after I noticed X9 work just as good with it's dozens IP's with swf's.
** Let wait for reports from other users with other VS's (on W10 I have just X9,2019,2021)

Re: Flash animation
Like Trevor, putting date back does not allow swf to be played in VS2021 or VS2020, I converted to mov using VS2018, but VS2018 does not have alpha capability

Re: Flash animation
Here on my celron miniPC this trick doesn't work as well with VS2021.
But I did found that Irfan here plays nicely swf's even with current date, go figure..
(In 20 years I use Irfan, I never knew that..)
