Pan Zoom FX to all photos in a mixed project (photo/video)
Hello,
New user of VideoStudio 2020 and I have a project with both video clips and still photos (all shot on my iPhone).
I am trying to apply a "Ken Burns" effect to the photos so each of the photos (not the video files on the Project) pan/zoom in a variety of ways (ideally only the top 6 "ballons")- is there a way to apply the FX "Video Pan and Zoom" to all photos in the project quickly in VideoStudio 2020? I was hoping for a button/option similar to the one in transitions where you can right click on the icon and check "apply current effect to video track"
Basically, I am trying to replicate the "Smart Pan & Zoom" (apply Smart Pan & Zoom effects to all photos" function that you have in Fast Flick in the VideoStudio2020 realm without having to create it in Fast Flick first and then import into VideoStudio 2020 with all the extra stuff.
I would greatly appreciate any thoughts/advice you might all have. Thank you for your thoughts.
Warmly
Landon

At least I have not found a good way to replicate certain effect to all with the same parameters. Not sure if that helps, but you could select all your still images and right click them, and from pop up menu select "Auto Pan & Zoom":
Others might be smarter than me and find better way to do this if there are possibilities.--

You can create your own FastFlick template using the six (or however many) motion patterns you want. I'm not versed in FF but this may help you:

I was surprised that Copy and Paste Attributes only worked for one clip and not a multiple selection
Of course that would set the same effect for all clips
FastFlick would allow you to set different Pan and Zoom for each of the 6 clips.
Then those 6 effects will be duplicated depending on how many clips you wish to use.
And of course the Fast Flick template can be used over and over again.
So do you want Auto P & Z or set your own P&Z effects

Re: Pan Zoom FX to all photos in a mixed project (photo/video)
Wow-thank you all for the quick replies- It seems like creating a FastFlick template should be my next step. My concern is that I have maybe 300 photos and 20-30 short videos (<1 minute) (this ranges monthly) that I am working with and with the Fast Flick it seems like I(at least with my first attempts) I had to drag and drop individual photos into the template into particular slide placeholders rather than the program automatically accommodating. I would love for the Auto Pan and Zoom to occur with some Pan and Zoom preferences that I preset.
Thank you all!
Thank you all!

Re: Pan Zoom FX to all photos in a mixed project (photo/video)
I am not fully understanding exactly the layout of your project files, it appears a mix of video and images
You do not say how many images are used in the project although mention 300 images
It does seem that you wish to add a Pan & Zoom to your images, all your images, then when you use those in a project the P&Z is already set.
You can do that using Fast Flick + a little extra work
How many P&Z different effects do you need or will an Auto P&Z be sufficient.
From Video Studio timelines create a new project containing 6 images, each having P&Z
File – Export as Fast Flick Template
Now open Fast Flick to add any amount of images, try 50
All settings as default, play the effects if you wish
Choose Save and Share then Edit in Video Studio, all images will be loaded to VS timeline
Create a new Media library folder and drag all images to library
All images have P & Z applied.
And for another batch of images simple run Fast Flick to apply P& Z again

Short Q Landon,
Do you think that 300 in-out arbitrary zoom's will make your project interesting?

I have to ask - you do realize how large this is as a single project? It will end up around and likely over 60 minutes long. That is a big rendered file at 1920x1080. Sure it can be done but patience and disk space are required
Videos ~25 minutes
300 still images in P&Z ~35 minutes (1 sec in, 5 sec P&Z, 1 sec out x300 = 35 minutes)
Plus opening and credit - up to 1 minute

Re: Pan Zoom FX to all photos in a mixed project (photo/video)
I am using it for home movies with a number of stills (again maybe 30) and a series of short videos (15-30) depending on how cute the kids have been that month so not for commercial use but more for grandparents. In the past I used a slideshow program from 2003 so only had the pan/zoom functionality to add motion so got attached to it. I know I will begin to explore more of these amazing features once I "catch up" but wanted to wet my feet back in the basics that I am familiar with. Thanks for the question.

Yep, I am used top these being about 45-60 minutes and am glad to know the program can handle bigger files- my kids do cute things and what I am trying to accomplish is the end of the month recap (with photos/videos). All personal home use with folks who can't get enough of the grandkids.gewb wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 2:52 pmI have to ask - you do realize how large this is as a single project? Re: Pan Zoom FX to all photos in a mixed project (photo/video)
Thank you everyone, all your suggestions worked and I have the product I have been searching for (for nearly a year now)- I am excited to learn the subtle nuances of the program and can't thank you all enough for your rapid and well-informed support (I did reconsider Pan & Zoom on all my slides and have selected a few special ones to have this feature). I love the audio ducking feature as well.
Thank you!
Thank you!
