Hi. I just upgraded to 2020 ultimate. everything was fine until I changed the project settings. now it crashes when rendering. What are the default settings so it can get it to render again please. I'm using Pal 25i footage.

Re: project settings
There are no default project properties as video clip properties vary widely. You should let VS match the project properties to the video properties when first creating your project.john chapple wrote:What are the default settings so it can get it to render again
Two ways that you can resolve your issue now are:
- view the properties of your video clips then manually set the project properties to match
- render using the "Same as First Video Clip" (this will also show you the properties of your video clip)

Re: project settings
I go into settings when editing and set them the same as what I want to render in. Works for me. If it does stutter or crash when rendering, saving and restarting the program normally cures it. As a last resort I'll reboot my pc.

Re: project settings
Hi John
First Pal video standards use 25fps these can be progressive (25P) or Interlaced which is described as (50i), so when you say 25i that should be 25fps or 50i.
When we burn a DVD the files used are DVD Mpeg2, these are known as compliant dvd files
Go to Share Mpeg2, the option for 720 x 576 x 50i x 8000kbps will produce a compliant DVD video file, approximately 4Gb per 60 minutes of footage, using Digital Dolby audio would allow for 70 to 75 minutes of footage
Some info here a workflow to burn dvd / bd
http://lata.me.uk/corel/all.htm
If your project crashes at 13% then there may be something wrong on the timeline at that point
Can you provide details of your video files, also your project settings should match the video file
How long is your project, then we may be able to give more details when you do share mpeg2

Hi Lata, Thanks for that but I can't find 720x576x50i in the list of options.

Re: project settings
Just missed you last reply
I would check the project to see if there is anything on the timelines when the error occurs, I assume it renders a bit, maybe 20% before it errors

Re: project settings
Hi John
Another day
I did a google search for R6025-pure virtual function call and found lots of details, one here.
https://appuals.com/fix-microsoft-visua ... ror-r6025/
Seems to be associated with corrupt files where programs use Microsoft’s Visual C++, and Corel programs do install these options.
I don’t really know what to suggest , you could run a repair on the Microsoft’s Visual C++ via Program and features.
It is difficult to identify which one is related to VS 2020 but I think this one
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86) – 11.0.6.030
From Program and Features, double click for Uninstall then choose Repair
otherwise you should try re-installing Video Studio, if you wish to retain the library then export to create a copy which can be imported after re-installing.

Re: project settings
Thanks so much Lata for all your help. I managed to get around the problem by rendering the project to bluray, then puting the rendered bluray file on a new project and then rendering that. It worked and saved me a lot of grief trying to find a corrupt file. Funny how the project rendered to bluray with no corrupt files being found but not to mpeg!
