Hardware upgrades for Corel Video Studio?

Post by Rhopman1986 »

Hello all,

I am currently running Corel Videostudio Ultimate 2018 on a i7 4790k, 12GB DDR3 1600mhz, and a GTX 1080ti (11gb VRAM) on my video/gaming PC.

With the release of the new Intel 9th generation chipsets, I was looking for a nice upgrade to shorten render times, because my CPU dates back from 2013 or something already.
With the release of the i9 9900k, could Corel VideoStudio actually benefit from the 8 cores 16 threads? Or what is the maximum of cores/threads that it can benefit from right now?
To be really honest, I am not even sure if Corel Video Studio actually benefits from my i7 4790k with its 4cores, 8 threads? I was wondering if someone could give me some info on that :)

Regarding the high prices/availability of the 9900k, and also a new motherboard/DDR4 RAM upgrade, I was thinking if It perhaps would matter if I would upgrade my RAM from 12GB DDR3 1600mhz, to 32GB 2400mhz? I once read that having more RAM can really make a difference in processing times. (I can buy the 32GB 2400mhz still pretty cheap used, thats why :) )
I am asuming my GTX 1080ti is still fine for video editing?

Would be great if someone could give me some advice on this.
