I'm 99% certain you'd just use the mov format files, so that would include lots of mp4 file types, as MOV is a wrapper and contains hundreds of file types.
Is there a reason for not installing quicktime?

Hi
MPEG4 video was developed from Mov so may also require QT
I am not exactly sure but think some library content and maybe masks may need Quicktime, quite possible that Smart Sound uses QT.
Besides X7 will install Quicktime when installing the program. You can or course uninstall afterwards then see how VideoStudio responds.

You will also lose animated GIF support.
