Capturing DVD's with multiple audio tracks

Hello, forgive me if this is addressed elsewhere in the forum.

I've been trying to figure out how to capture from a DVD that contains multiple audio tracks (the original audio plus a commentary track). All I need is the original audio, not the commentary track. Once I've got it captured to my hard drive it seems as if the two tracks have been combined over top of each other with no way of deleting the commentary track.

Anyone else run into this problem? If so, is there a solution?

I'm afraid VS can't do what you are after. You would need a program like Video ReDo, though there may be other suggestion. And I'm afraid ReDo is NOT freeware...

VOB2MPG can do it. (The basic version is FREE.)

VOB2MPG combines the VOB files into one big MPG file without re-encoding. (Like Video Studio, it does NOT work with encrypted/copy protected DVDs.)

That's unfortunate, seems like an obvious flaw for VideoStudio. People put commentary tracks on all kinds of things these days, even 3 minute promotional clips. And yes I realize that VideoStudio does not work with copy-protected discs, that's not an issue.

I see that the basic version of VOB2MPG will not allow you to extract specific audio streams. Only the Pro version will do that. And at US$17, it's not too expensive either.

I don't consider that a flaw. I consider VS mainly a video editing/burning program not a "ripping" program. I am sure if there was a big demand for that feature it will be implemented.

Yes, I realize it's not a "ripping" program. I work part-time in few different video production jobs. One is Apple based, Final Cut Pro, which can do just about anything. The other is a volunteer gig, P.C. based, Corel VideoStudio, which I'm learning is not quite as useful, but I'll make do. I'm actually a big fan of Corel Photopaint and Corel Draw so I was excited at the possibility of learing Corel P.C. video editing software. It's not the end of the world, just not quite as fantastic as I was hoping.

I would expect that a program costing less than $100 would have quite a features less than one costing $300
