Ulead VideoStudio SE shuts down download on own
Please help, when trying to download movie from Sony camcorder everything appears fine until Video Studio program stops camcorder on its own and displays unknown error. This sometimes happens after 30, 40 even 50 minutes, but I have yet to be able to download entire 60 minute tape to computer. I am trying to convert Digital 8 movies to DVD. Very frustrating. I am not at all tech savvy.

Can we assume your Sony is a Digital 8 model? If so, can you give us the exact model. Can we also assume you are trying to capture the movie via a firewire cable, and not a USB cable? Firewire is the only way to go with your set-up, by the sounds of it, and certainly will give the best quality if you are capturing to DV/AVI and not mpeg-2. Which format are you trying to capture in?

Yes that's right Ken, Sony Digital 8, model DCR-TRV260. Capturing via firewire cable to DV/AVI. Thanks

Hi
What version of Video Studio are you using, I noticed you show SE?
Is that 10?
There is a small program called WinDV that you can use to capture your video.
Then insert to the VS timeline to edit.
