I had absolutely no trouble to mix these formats in one project.
VSX7 didn't gave me any indication of error what so ever in placing these clips together and render them to HD MP4.

Short update,
This morning I installed VSX7 on XPSP3 system with 3.5 years old Nvidia driver.
X7 works a bit snappier than what I experienced in win7, Vitascene work with no problem at all.

I will try to downgrade the driver on win7 later today.
