Colorizing shades of grey

I have a tough time adding colour to black, white, and shades of grey. If there is colour there already then I can use the colourful-doughnut icon "Hue and Saturation" tool's "colorize" to change the colour. but it is tricky to keep tones and add colour to near-whites, greys and near blacks. If some...

Re: What advantages does PaintShop Pro have over Photoimpact

Thank you. I guess I will be using PI for quite some time. Why do you use the others?

I will post regarding the colouring problem to another thread.

Re: What advantages does PaintShop Pro have over Photoimpact

I guess nidhiwani's post is some sort of spam but, I am still using Photoimpact. I wonder if PI will work with Windows 10 which apparently I will have to use soonish, when Microsoft stops support for my Windows 7. I can't really tell much improvement in software for the past 15 or more years. Hardwa...

Re: Photoimpact VS Photoshop

Bearing in mind that this is a thread about the relative merits of Photoimpact VS Photoshop, and that you have only made two posts to these forums, I still think that you are being paid to (be?) "just mention according to my point of view," as a form of comment spam to boost the sales of the pro ver...

Re: Photoimpact VS Photoshop

That post by Ksharon sounds like spam to me.

I am still happy with Corel Photoimpact X3 and don't know what I am missing.
I would not want to use an online service since I believe it would be less speedy and I would need an internet connection.

Re: PDF

photoimpact does not save to PDF format but tou can save to jpg and then use
http://jpg2pdf.com/
to convert to PDF.

To get from a pdf to Photoimpact then you can use PDFExchange (a semi free version of Acrobact) to export to jpg and open that.

Re: How to make spill effect?

Hi, It means oil spill in a sea or water (which are mixed in water). you can view the pics below A couple of years late but 1) Open and copy a plain water texture so that you have the background water image and a copy of itself as an object on top 2) Use Effect > Fills and Textures > Kaleidoscope F...

Ten years later and I am still using Photoimpact.

Re: Stamp Tool, need to download Templates

If you save the UFO file in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\PhotoImpact X3\stamps folder then you will be able to select it from the add stamp option in the menu activated by the little drop down arrow next to the current stamp icon in the stamp toolbar of Photoimpact. I.e. Normal .ufo files are al...

Re: What advantages does Photoshop have over Photoimpact

Sorry I meant PaintShop Pro I will try and edit the above to reflect your kind correction. I think that my windows 7 and Windows 8 computers have a bit of life in them yet. I have their hard disks backed up. So I think I will be using PI for a while longer, unless there are some significant advantag...

What advantages does PaintShop Pro have over Photoimpact

I have been using Photoimpact for the last twenty years and it seems to do all that I need to be able to do. In fact I don't think that the last few updates added anything that I wanted, and I don't even use half the functions such as the (powerful I hear) layers. I just enhance photos in all sorts ...

Re: Stamp Tool, need to download Templates

You can make your own stamps. There is a photoshop tutorial here https://learn.corel.com/tutorials/create-your-own-picture-tubes/ on how to do it but it requires an export to "photo tube" file (.tub) function, which I am not seeing in Photoimpact. However, in photoimpact it is easy to make new sets ...

Shortcut Key to Stop Object Borders Twinkling/Shimmering

When using the object eraser tool to erase unwanted edges from an isolated object, the twinkling of the object edge makes this erasure process more difficult. I am pretty sure that there is a shortcut key that stops the edges of objects from shimmering or twinkling (as they do by default) but I do n...

[SOLVED] Menus only display momentarily (UK English sense)

When I click on the menus in my PI X3 on Windows 7 the menus only display for less than a second and then disappear. I can only get to sub men functions using short cut keys (e.g. Ctrl E for Hue and Saturation) since the menu has disappeared before I can move my mouse pointer there. It is like my mo...

Re: How to give Vintage effect?

8 months late but, just in case any one else is interested in how to get a vintage effect. To get black and white click Ctrl + E or Photo > Color > Hue and Saturation and reduce Saturation to -100 for black and white. Click Okay. Then click Ctrl + E again and click on the colourize radio button. Cho...
