Re: Capture Preview In VSX7

Which capture card? Have you looked into it's settings to see if that is the problem? The capture card is the Compro VideoMate C500. There are no setting to adjust. In other software such as Pinnacle Studio 12.1 and Honestech VHS TO DVD the capture display is in the correct format as set in the sof...

The device is sat tv with a 16:9 format (BBC News). Watching the picture on TV is displayed in the 16:9 format. However while capturing, the picture in the preview window of VS X7 is as I explained further up. I am using an analog capture card.

Capture Preview In VSX7

Aspect Ratio While Capturing

I am using VideoStudio Pro X7 for capturing via analog STB. Just during capturing the picture does not have the correct AR. Otherwise the captured clip is according to the set AR and displays correctly during editing.
See simulated image during capturing.

User Settings In DMF7

Is there a way to keep the user settings in Corel Ulead DVD MovieFactory Pro 7.00.398 ?
The capture settings always defaults to 4:3 and have to set each time I run the application.

Re: Capture Preview Window

It appears that my problem is explained in the second example as shown here: http://www.gdbint.com.au/tech/16x9/ "It is up to the display device (monitor or TV) or the DVD player to apply scaling to get the display aspect ratio correct." In my case it is the capture window. Because the recorded movi...

Re: Capture Preview Window

Thank you Brian and lata for your replies. I have checked the file AR using GSpot, which confirms that it's AR is in fact 16:9. It's just the capture window which is displaying the wrong AR. I have tested it on 2 capture cards, the ATI All-In-Wonder- Radion 9600 and Compro VideoMate C500.

Re: Capture Preview Window

Hi What version of Video Studio are you using.? Give us more details regarding your capture, are you using a Mini DV camcorder connected via firewire, or are you capturing via a capture card. What are you actually doing? I'm using the VS Pro X6 and capturing via a capture card. Project PAL 16:9. If...

Capture Preview Window

Hi,
I have set my video capture format to 16:9 (widescreen). The picture in the movie capture preview window is 4:3 and stretched vertically. However when the file is played it is in fact 16:9.
Is there a way I can set the preview window to display the correct aspect ratio during capture ?

Re: VideoStudio Customized Menus

Coustimizing menus using the application resources is a dead cinch. I have enquired if there is a way to link text and grahpics objects like the way it has been done in Ulead DVD Workshop just by draging and dropping. For example: In the title menu of Workshop I can have a line of text with "Play Mo...

Re: VideoStudio Customized Menus

Thanks Brian for your reply. I have used PhotoImpact to produce templates for Ulead DVD Workshop. I taught perhaps there could be an application that could help to create templates for VideoStudio. I am not too keen on the templates in VideoStudio. I prefer to have a simple text title menu which can...

VideoStudio Customized Menus

I would like to make my own title and chapter menus for VideoStudio X5 which would include interactive text objects as buttons. Is there any application (like PhotoImpact, for example) I can use ?

Re: UDVDW2 16:9 Menus

DVD Workshop 2 does support 16:9 movies but not as regards menus. The menus (both title and chapters) are displayed as 4:3. Any movie is played in it's original resolution
