Re: AfterShot Pro 3 does not start (Linux Debian)

Hello, I just had a similar problem with ASP 2.0 on OpenSuse 42.1. Probably also after a crash I typically face once per hour  My solution: Check in directory ~/.config/Corel if there are files Aftershot*.conf.lock or Aftershot*.conf.l<number>. After removing them ASP started again ... BR, Man...

Re: Need RAW support for Fuji XT2

Support of X-T2 is just one step - it does not mean the quality is acceptable.
E.g. the ASP conversion quality of Fuji X-E1 is very poor, far behind Darktable, Capture-One, Photo-Ninja, ... and out-of-cam JPG.

Re: Upgrade to Aftershot3 for $60 ?? Are you serious?

Today I use ASP2 only for digitizing slides with my stone-age Canon 40D. For Fuji X-Trans speed and quality of ASP2/3 is not acceptable at all, so I use Darktable even if I like the GUI of ASP more. So I will definitely not upgrade until I see major improvement in basic functions - from experience o...

Big Disappointment

My experiences with Fuji-X-Trans (X-E1): The output of APS2 and ASP3 is exactly the same, so no improvement in the bad demosaicing, still funny noisy pixels. In this aspect ASP was and still is worse than any other raw converter I have tested! The raw processing is still very slow, but impoved by 17...

Re: [Plugin] Silicon Bonk

Unfortunately, this plugin crashes on my system (OpenSuse Leap 42.1, ASP 2.4.0.119 x64) with following error message: Fatal: QMetaType::registerType: Binary compatibility break -- Size mismatch for type 'QPaintBufferCacheEntry' [1024]. Previously registered size 16, now registering size 0. QMetaType...

Re: Greyscale TIFFs ignored by ASP

Workaround: xnview has a good batch conversion to convert from TIF greyscale to RGB.

Greyscale TIFFs ignored by ASP

ASP 2.3.0.99 ignores TIFFs (not visible in thumb view) generated by scan software if recorded with "Samples/Pixel: 1".
After converting to RGB (Samples/Pixel: 3) they are visible. Not nice ...

Re: Fuji X Lens Calibration

Maybe it depends on supported lenses of lensfun (http://lensfun.sourceforge.net/lenslist).
For e.g. XC16-50 just enable lens correction and the heavy distortion vanishes ...

Re: Fuji X Lens Calibration

For more than one year Corel didn't manage to implement lens correction/autodetection for Fuji.
As ASP-owner better do not look at competitors, even freeware ...
ASP is just a hobby for me (testing and forgetting), normally I use darktable.

Re: Fuji X Lens Calibration

Thank you, unfortunately this does not help.
I assume a profile_fujifilmlenstable.txt is missing that is needed for decoding the lens identifers.
Also the camera is still not auto-detected.

Looking at the progress - maybe one and a half, beside the at least 10 managers

Re: Fuji X Lens Calibration

Corel added cameras X-A2, X-T10 to profile_fujifilm.txt, but forgot X-E1, X-E2, X-T1, ... and all lenses. To use above lens corrections the used group name "fujiX" should be renamed to "FujifilmX" so that these are also available for X-A2, X-T10, ... Unfortunately auto-detection is still not ...

Re: Fuji

Corel could simply add the autodetection and copy the lens details from lens fun. It seems the only developer is too busy with other issues.
You can add lens corrections from here, but you have to select manually.

Re: New 2.2.1

Here they wrote: We’ve refined X-trans implementation with the FujiFilm X-T10 and we think you’ll find that we’ve made significant enhancements. With X-E1 I cannot see an improvement. Same poor results on critical images. (Darktable and C1 are significant better). Still no lens correction available...
