Hi Bob, I don't believe you to be an idiot (exept if you speak of this word in its archaic meening, in which case most if not all of us are idiots :) ), but this makes it difficult to tell whats going wrong. I rewiewed my description and cannot find much things to explain more clearly. Just a few hi...

To my experiance you rarely get the exact bitrate you specified. But if you specify a higher, you usually get a higher. Probably the encoder uses a specific "compression strength" dependend on te bitrate. But sometimes the input is easier to compress, so at the end the resulting bitrate will be lowe...

it's also really hard to get both sets of credits advancing up the screen at the same speed.
yes - now I remember. I had to count the lines of each title and set the duration accordingly. (Problems are even greater, if you use text of different sizes.)

There are a few small difficulties if you do that. Greatest problem is to use the right register and to compare it to the correct value. The value needed might change with the number of titltes, your starting title, the number of the button used to start the chapter ... (An other possible error coul...

To work around the limitation of text length you can split your title into two (or more). Its most easy if you allow a pause where not text is on the screen, but you can also overlap them, so when the first one is in the upper half of the screen the second one has allready started at the lower one. ...

Unfortunatly there is no rule (at least no rule which gives true results) telling what kind of disks play with which player. There are at least four factors: - the burner - the burning speed - the disk - the player Changing any of these could give totaly different results :( But since you have many ...

In source window you can switch on to display the timecode of recording. Online help states, that this works not with all graphic cards, but does not tell with which. While this has no influence on quality, its a nice feature, so you might want to consider it, if you buy a new card. Does anyone know...

Sounds like you have a serious conflict with some other software. Please think: what did you install since the last time it worked? Could be e.g. any video or audio codec from some other software. I once had a problem like yours rendering and figured out that the guilty one was a little tool for ins...

There is some speciality with DWS subtitle files: if you save them from dws, they may be ansi-files or unicode-files depending on the font you used (and perhaps on the characters you used). If you open them e.g. with notepad on w2k or wxp you wont see a difference, because these versions are unicode...

To vidoman: I do not work with DVDMF, but as far as I know all newer Ulead DVD apps recognize the .upd files. (Did you notice - when you create .mpg files with MSP, there is allways a identical named file .upd. It contains a description telling its "Ulead Private Data". This is where the chapter poi...

Announcement of tool MediaStudio Pro

Hallo, MSP8 has a nice feature: you can define dvd chapter points, which can be reused later by dws2. This way its much easier to place the chapter points accurate. Also MSP can insert I-frames at these positions during rendering. But there is also a bitter pill: When you have finished your dvd and ...

I would recoment to change the settings of the camera. Usually if you record with the lower quality settings you have the "benefit" to be able to record a second audio. But this is useful only if you want to cut your videos on the camera. Since you are working with MSP its unlikly you will ever do t...

You could patch the commands of the dvd using pgcedit, but for this you need very good understanding of the commands and the dvd structure. You could get this from tutorials for pgcedit and from linked pages (maybe you need to pay for some information on some websides). As an alternativ you could us...

Why should anybody who owns MSP8 spent 1£á or 1$ for a "downgrade"? Even if this would run under vista? I would much prefer more and better features and perhaps running under linux. (Since for new hardware there are often no more xp-drivers and I dont like the gameware vista.) This could be a big ma...

I know this behavior. I had report the problem in an older post. It happens, if your mpeg file is somehow corrupt. (In the older post I had explained the likely reason: MSP has problems to go backwarts in the file.) Solution: 1) MSP behaves better, if you have the service pack installed. 2) You can ...
