Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions

1. This should be a survey with voting totals for different suggestions.
2. I'd love to see a PNG export

Re: Adjustment in Lightroom curves for printing shadows - AS

Thanks GR, that's helpful. I'm slowly paying more attention to Darktable. I seem to have better fine control over RAW with ASP3, but no editor does it all. I'll be posting in DPreview under KumsaJack on ASP3 work.

Adjustment in Lightroom curves for printing shadows - ASP3 ?

The article is dealing with B/W images that have deep shadows that need to be lightened up for printing. http://blog.redriverpaper.com/2016/10/get-maximum-shadow-detail-in-your-prints.html?trk_msg=QVJ6NSE6RR5K7D3A4LQFCRO7N4&trk_contact=FTN8RV23LGQSR5VFQRFF52IM38&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&u...

Re: AfterShot Pro - Wishlist for future versions -- Tetherin

Being able to tether for RAW exposure values is critical to studio flash. Trying to gauge the results from the back of the camera and it's jpg histogram introduces too many complexities when shooting with flash/es. Having a real-time capture via tether, with the RAW histogram, would be a significant...

Max Size import for TIF error

I've been working with some large pano's of the fall skyline in Virginia. I captured the images in RAW, processed them in ASP3, then stiched them together in Hugin to create a large, ProPhotoRGB TIF. I'd like to do a little touch up in ASP3, but when I try and import it, here's the error that's give...

Re: Linux network folders

I'm using NFS and can access the files on my Synology NAS with ASP3/Ubuntu. - However, I haven't been able to complete a catalog import without a crash For the NFS, I'm assuming your user mappings are correct, just connect to your NAS and check the /etc/exports file. The usernames may not be in sync...

ASP3 underexposes CR2 for Canon 6D -- RESOLVED

It's taken me a little time to be sure that I wasn't messing with a camera setting, so I did a lot of testing. PROBLEM: Setting an exposure and reading a histogram is dependent on the camera's jpg rendering (even if I'm only using the CR2 RAW files). ASP3 is underexposing the RAW, when I'm relying o...

Re: Introducing the New AfterShot Pro 3

The highlight recovery is terrific. Already tested it out -- and it was the one feature that I was hoping to see polished up.

Did not expect to see my friend the GradFilter back in play !! Thanks.

Lots to play with -- too bad I have a day job.

Re: [Suggestion] Grad Filter Plugin & Grad Layer Tool

The GradFilter Pro plugin is tremendously effective, and it's why I keep a 32-bit version that can run it. Sadly, for much of the work that I do, the filter is a necessity. I personally don't care whether the solution is an update from Roger Barnes, or if ASP2+ puts in a core enhancement. Working wi...

Re: Introducing Alex Brazeau, Corel Photo Group- Aftershot f

Nice to see the focus from Corel, Alex. Two things: - tracking bugfixes - beta testing BUGS It would be useful to know if ASP2 has an item listed for a bugfix, or not. For instance, when ASP2 included HDR for Linux (a revision after Windows and Mac), the quality was not good. Turns out that there is...

Catalog deletions not removing the original image

Running the latest on Ubuntu 14.04 and noticed that deletion of an entry in the catalog does not actually remove the image from the file system. It used to work, and here is the documentation on the feature: "If you delete/remove a master version in Corel AfterShot Pro, the master file and all relat...

Re: ASP 2.0 with Canon 6D

Hm. I shoot RAW + JPG on my 6D (awesome camera) and I'm not seeing much difference (I'm assuming you have the latest release of ASP2). I wonder what JPG defaults you have set on the 6D

Re: HDR loses resolution on Ubuntu 14.04--UPDATE

The latest upgrade addresses the issue quite well. Linux can now export HDR cleanly, in either jpg or tiff. Use the TIFF for highest bit depth. Linux still doesn't have the full export controls that are present in Windows/OSX, but everything is working well. Sample: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com...
