Re: Anyone using AS on a ThreadRipper cpu?

While he was still active on this forum, AFX used to say that the performance denominators were: 1: Number of cores 2: Number of threads 3: Clock speed 4: Graphics card Coming from a mainly AMD background, I think the Samsung i-5 laptop I got in 2011 was "quicker" with ASP than the HP A-10 laptop th...

Re: Can I script a download and export, externally?

Not sure you can call ASP with an import command. Thinking deeper about this, you could add a command to the batch job with which you run ASP ( you know, but others may not, that this is necessary to let ASP load an application-specific LIBPATH). Such a command could "notice" the existence of a flag...

Re: Removing selfmade watermark

Presets are in /Users/<Your Name>/AppData/Local/Corel/AfterShot Pro3/Presets So one thing you can do is navigate your way there, and then delete the whole preset you have created. Or you can drill down into the Other directory (I imagine), and edit your preset with an XMP editor. I am more of a linu...

Re: Can't install my plugins in Ubuntu 16.04

Can I ask if you were already using these plugins on an earlier version of Ubuntu? Did you do a fresh install of ASP after you installed 16.04? I keep ASP and A couple of other payware programs on a separate /opt partition, which means they don't get nuked when I go up to the next version of Mint. I...

Re: Selecting a camera profile under Linux

I can confirm that drilling down to /opt/AfterShotPro 3(64-bit)/supportfiles/Profiles/LensProfiles the command

grep COLOR *

gives no result. So it looks as though the profile for the new E-M10 Mark ii is part of a new feature not available in previous versions.

Re: Selecting a camera profile under Linux

On my Windows machine (thus far it has always used the same structures as in Linux) the profiles are in <installation>/supportfiles/Profiles/LensProfiles/

I can't find the string COLOR_REP in any of the profiles, nor RGB. I shall have a look on my linux box a bit later (my wife is having a siesta).

Re: Selecting a camera profile under Linux

As I understand it ASP3 will automatically recognise your camera from EXIF information in the RAW file; this is on condition that the camera database contains an entry to recognise your camera. If it also recognises the lens from the EXIF, then it will apply corrections from the lens database. The d...

Re: Metadata

Hmm
If you have bought a licence for ASP Pro, and have entered the key that goes with it, then things should go as I wrote. I can't simulate ASP 3 normal on the machine I have with me, so I can only hope your woes are down to this. And wish you good luck!

Re: .XMP sidecar

If you export all your photos then you could send them to an export queue which contains a script that would copy the .XMP to a subdirectory. I don't know of another way to deal with this, so any .XMP files not dealt with in your export batch are going to stay in the same folder as the photos to whi...

Forgot to say, although my main platform is Linux, the snapshot I showed you is from my Windows desktop. So we are not talking version differences here.

Re: Metadata

<quote>there is no arrow on the screen to click to make the value go up or down</quote> I can only imagine that you have made the file write-protected in some way, either with a hardware or windows permission setting. On mine, as soon as you call for the metadata tab, you see this: [img]http:www.mik...

Re: Metadata

Hi What you need to do is to: Bring up the Metadata tab (from what you say, you found it OK) Click the Default set of Metadata if you don't see the word "Default" in the top right corner of the Metadata tab Select the component of the date you wish to modify, for example, to modify the year to 2015,...

Re: Problem with continuous batching?

You can set the destination folder in the Batch Settings, "Output Name and Location", if it will always be the same. Otherwise, you have to select a folder every time you use a batch. Alternatively, what I do is use colour coding to sort a day's shots by intended destination folder, then use filteri...

Re: Aftershot Pro has stopped working

I wonder whether either of you deleted the cache file after the crash, and before restarting ASP? This directory is called "cache", and sits (in windows), in "Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Corel\AfterShot Pro3\" generally on drive C I would think. At least that is where ASP has it on my W10 laptop...

Do synbolic links not work between drives on different spindles?

I seem to remember some discussion of this, perhaps back in the Bibble days.
