Re: Help with understanding workflow

After another half hour of playing with this thing they call an authoring program, I'm beginning to think you simply CAN'T type text in. Rather, you can only edit default lines of text that appear in pre-made templates. It's like its a kids program. < sigh>

Help with understanding workflow

Hello all. Well, I finally relented and purchased Movie Factory 7 pro. I really miss DVDWS. Anyway, my needs are ( IMO ) very basic, yet ... being an idiot, I can't figure out what I'm doing. If I may, let me first explain what I'm trying to accomplish. Then you can tell me if it is even possible, b...

Re: Anyone Still Using DVDWS2

Yes, I am still using DVD WS. I am using it with Win 7 Ultimate. There was quite a process to get this to work, but this is how to go about it...... Make sure that DirectX 9 gets installed. Once you have installed the DVDWS install disk completely, rigtht click the DVDWS shortcut and click properti...

Re: Broken record

Thanks for the replies. Very interesting, but it doesn't surprise me that DVDMF will fade away. For any folks at Corel who may be reading...... It's no wonder, but if you believe there is a need for a better food blender and you make one out of CRAP, then market it.... When no one buys it, don't aut...

Broken record

I'm very sorry if this sounds like a broken record, but if anyone has any insight as to whether or not Corel is going to improve Movie Factory in the next version and when that might be I'd appreciate it. I'll admit I must have some kind of mental block, but when I downloaded this program to try I f...

Windows XP 64 bit

Well, I did finally give in. I'm unable to run Workshop in Win7 64 bit. I know it's not supported but I hoped the XP mode or compatibility mode would work. For me it didn't, and that's on a new build i5. But it dawns on me that perhaps it would work on Windows XP 64 bit. You see, I bought the compon...

Video / Audio Multiplexing question

I'm curious why, when I bring an mpeg video ( that I edited as a dv-avi and encoded to mpeg-2 in Adobe Premiere) into DVD Workshop, after setting up the menu and going to the finish page to burn the DVD, the converting video bar quickly slides by, and the converting audio bar also quickly slides by ...

Re: Windows 7 64bit

Well, I found the cure. I hope you're happy Corel. I re-formatted, took Windows 7 Ultimate 64 off my brand new PC, took out 12 gigs of memory, put in a token 4 gigs, and installed Windows XP Pro. They will have to pry DVD Workshop from my cold dead hands. I am SOOOOOOO pissed off at Corel for throwi...

Re: Windows 7 64bit

Well, I finally built my new PC. I decided to take a chance and just install Windows 7 64 bit without dual boot. I tried to install DVDWS, and while it isn't working, its doing better than expected, and if I knew what the heck I was doing I'd probably iron this out. I'm hoping very hard, someone can...

Re: MF 7 Pro trial basic questions

If you had your hands on a product that would blow your other products out of water, would you really want someone else to get their hands on it? Just like Corel has done with the release of MotionStudio 3D, which is Ulead's Cool 3D Production Studio revamped, they should revamp and release DVDWS2....

Re: Windows 7 64bit

Thanks for the reply Ron. Are you saying that the compatibility mode offered by Microsoft for the Professional version of Win7 would be fine, or not for sure? I was told that this mode offered to the Pro vers. of Win7 is actually somehow running the 32 bit vers. of Win XP. I mean, they said that dow...

Windows 7 64bit

Hi all. I'm considering building a new PC. My old P4 3ghz takes forever to transcode my Canopus 300 dv-avi files after editing to the mpeg format. The twiddling thumbs time is killing me. But the only thing that may hurt more is loosing DVDWS. Has anyone run DVDWS on a Win7 64 bit system? Any proble...

Re: MF 7 Pro trial basic questions

Alright, if that is the case, then, why, as many seem to have asked, don't they release DVDWS as an open source software for those knowledgeable enough to rewrite it ( or do whatever open source people do to programs) so we can enjoy it? They still took their ball and went home IMO .... like spoiled...

Re: MF 7 Pro trial basic questions

While this and I'm sure other shortcomings of MF7 can be a pain, it begs the specific question, AND hopefully a SPECIFIC answer. WHY??? Why would a company toss a better program to reinvent the wheel with less versatility than the one they tossed? And, now that I look back at older posts ... Why wou...

Re: MF 7 Pro trial basic questions

Thanks for the replies. I know there are ways to ham and egg around what would otherwise seem to be a simple viable feature. Forgive me if I sound upset, but FOR THE LIFE OF ME ... I can't understand why a company would take the absolute best video authoring program to date, and toss it in the garba...
