PSPx9 also recenters the image and resizes it too. But it does not rotate the image; it rotates the Crop tool.

PSPx8 32-bit recenters the image and allows the Crop tool to rotate (not the image).

PSPx7 recenters the image and allows the Crop tool to rotate (not the image).

I have PSP x6, x4 and 11, but they are not installed at present. I could install them but the job should be something that a Corel coder does.

Basically proves my point I guess. PSP crop too has generally always recenters the image. But it never rotated the image instead of the crop tool until 2018, and that has been one of the major complaints about that tool since then. Yet a Corel person responds to say that they are looking at the recentering issue (which has always existed), but fails to respond to whether or not they are going to fix the issue of rotating the image rather than the crop tool. It seems they are "supposedly" looking at something that has never been a real issue and existed for a long time, but simply want to ignore issues that started with the crop tool in 2018 and have multitudinous complaints. Typical Corel attitude, I'm afraid.

It would be nice to hear one of them respond to these actual posts that deal with actual - and long standing - complaints. But I doubt that we'd get an actual, serious response that they will actually fix these issues - if we get any response at all. And no response, IMHO, is likely better than the boilerplate response that "we're looking into the issue." What I want to know is if they are "looking into it" with the goal being to fix it to fit what we have requested!

Whenever I attempt to use a tool on a zoomed in image, the view snaps back to center.

1. Load a large image.
2. Zoom in and pan away from the center position.
3. Invoke a tool, like Crop or Gaussian Blur.

The view immediately snaps back to center.

This also happens if you try to adjust an edge of the crop area, making almost impossible to set a precision crop.

Has anyone else seen this?

Yes, I've gotten 2019 recently and this is not good.

There's also another issue, drag the crop area outside of the image and release the mouse button. In previous versions the crop area would snap back to the edge of the image (which makes sense to me), currently, it does not do that. However, when you crop, the result is as if the area snapped back to the edge. So, you're seeing one thing and the crop result is something else.

I logged two tickets today, but the replies so far are miserable. I might have to skip 2019 and get a refund.

I don't get it, cropping is like... basic stuff, isn't it?

I found a workaround while playing with a huge image. I specified a 1920x1080 Crop window. It showed up as about 1/3 the width of the image (I told you it was big) but I had the whole image in view.

Edit: the problems with the workaround are two: first of all, I must uncheck the "Maintain Aspect Ratio" box to get the Crop window to do what I wanted it to do. Second, I had to remember that my screen size is 1920x1080 -- I could not just specify an aspect ratio.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 9.00, 10, 11, x4, x6, x7, x8, x9; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64; rejected PSP 2019.

It does for me.
Could you be more precise ?
Are you in Tabbed or Cascade mode.
Did you check or uncheck Maintain proportions ?

Jean-Luc, the issue only happens when the floating crop toolbar is not displayed. With the floating crop toolbar on, there is no issue.

Tabbed mode, the aspect ratio setting can be set either way.

Ok, Mike. I see the defect now.
And when I select a crop preset with maintaining aspect ratio, if the crop rectangle goes outside the image, some other oddity happens.

Will report it to Corel.

This is super annoying and makes the program unusable.
Even if after it snaps back to the center you grab it and try to drag it over to one side it will scroll for a short while and then stop so you can never get to the edge of the image.

This release has so many bugs when I have too many images open and try to drag the tabs to re-order them they all start dancing around crazy (https://support.corel.com/attachments/token/Y33E1OQSHvtZs43ERS7PkcBX2/?name=20181127_131923.mp4)

Solved for me...
I set the workspace to complete.
Opened an image and selected the crop tool
In the menu bar that appears for the crop tool at far right, there is a heading with 3 squares under it which reads "Snap crop rectangle to:"
Select the square that when you mouse over reads "Current Selection"
This should do it.

New snap to grid settings in 2019 not well explained.

I'm not sure that I understand what you are trying to achieve. From what I can see, the "Snap Crop Rectangle To Current Selection" option requires that you make a raster selection with the Selection tool and then invoke the Crop tool which will then snap to the raster selection you previously made with a the Selection tool.
