Choose Selection Tool , Selection type = Rectangle, Mode =Add,
Then along a bit further under Selection Style you can choose Normal, Fixed Size or Fixed ratio. Type in 16 as Width and 9 for Height then drag in the image as you would for the crop tool set at 16 : 9 and the selection will be as you wish.
Right click inside the selection and you can move it to roughly where you want. If you need top change its size slightly (scaling) then in the Layers palette choose Edit Selection , choose the Pick tool and and drag only the corners otherwise the aspect ratio will be changed.

Cute trick. It works, and thank you.
I can't decide whether it is a workaround or a feature. I'll use it, though.

My two cents:
1. If the crop tool has not been fixed back to the way it was in early PSP days, please do that.
2. Ability to lock layers would be great.
2. Undo the Texture setting when user returns to normal paint brush.

Agree with 1. - set an option to allow the Classic crop as done up to X9.
2. Not sure what you mean here and possibly Corel would not know what you mean. - if you have say 4 layers with layer 1 on the bottom and you want to move layers 2 and 4 keepin them aligned then you can by holding the control key down and then clicking the chain link / unlink is that what you mean - locking two layers together. The other lock (down arrow to right of Layers Palette) is a lock transparency where if you have an object (eg picture tube, preset shape on a transparent layer and you want to paint the object then Locking transparebncy will stop the paintbrush from affecting the transparent areas.

second 2 (I think it should be 3.) You can have a normal (color paint brush) and still have texture applied and that may be wanted. What is needed is to have the Texture turned off when you use the Reset to Default (in drop down dialog for Presets).

As I was doing thins I noticed that the folders not in A-Z format were not capitalized. So I changed a couple and that fixed it.
Thanks for helping me see that.

The whole drop shadow, not just partial: I was playing around with drop shadows: Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow. I ticked the Shadow on new layer box. Then I used the Pick tool to deform the shadow layer by shift-clicking on it.

Shadow on new Layer.jpg

As you can see, PSP laid down a crescent. Behind the moon there was nothing. I would like to deform the shadow layer and work with the entire shadow, not simply the part that could be seen.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 9.00, 10, 11, x4, x6, x7, x8, x9; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64; rejected PSP 2019.

Drop Shadow

Take a .JPG. Use the PNG optimizer to save the image as a .PNG with a transparency channel. Expand the canvas. Using the Pick tool, select the entire image and deform it (use shift-click if you have to). Expand the image more if you have to. What you are aiming for is to have what was facing you now lie down sort of flat. If a street is in your image, forget about the Pick tool.

Use Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow. Click on shadow on new layer. What you will get is a shadow cast on your transparent background, facing you; you will not get a shadow cast down on your horizontal image. I would like to cast shadows down on things.

Edit: here is a shot with a patio that was already flat -- I did not have to deform an image. The drop shadow is going rearward to a nonexistent surface, not downward to the patio. Maybe a three-dimensional light source like the one in Photoshop.

Apple MAC version...Way overdue, particularly when particularly when After Effects is both Win and MAC.

If they make a Mac version, they can make a Linux version.

Surely the ability to either edit or at least convert HEIC files should be top of the list?

This is now the default photo format for all current iPhones and iPads but PSP just shrugs and says I can't do this.

Bearing in mind the number of people who'll be using this format in future, it is a must have feature in PSP.

At the time of writing, if you enter HEIC into Corel's PSP knowledge base you get nothing useful at all.

At the very least there should be a knowledge base entry RIGHT NOW explaining that

1. PSP does not currently support the HEIC format
2. A workaround would be to... a link to whatever Corel thinks appropriate (either a converter app or an online converter)
3. (ideally) note to say that Corel are working on including HEIC support in the next version of PSP.

I had to contact support just to discover that PSP doesn't currently support HEIC!

Support for the .jxr format would be nice. The ability to read them even if they have to be saved in a different format, please.

I'm finding references to dehaze filters going back to 2013, so it is not a new concept. Also, the polarization function in Nik Color EfexPro 4 goes back to when the Nik collection was free, so that too is not a new concept. I'll admit, the effects would be better if based on raw, but I find nothing about dehaze or polarization in Aftershot 3 (not Pro) or its extensions. Likewise, there are no references to dehaze or polarization when one opens a raw file directly in PSP. Clearly, Corel is falling behind, here.
