Hi. My name is Bill, and this post is to keep me on the list. I joined because I wish to learn how to use the Videostudio 11 plus . I am new to editing, and the manual that comes with my software uses terms it does not define, and I have the feeling that one needs to read between the lines to make things work out. I am learning slowly by trial and error, but hope to learn from the questions and replies found on this board. I would really like to know of a book that would describe Ulead's approach to videoediting in more detail.
The camera is Panasonic HDC SD1, recording to a SDHC 4 gig card. The format is AVCHD. The computer is a Dell XPS with Pentium 4 chip at 3.2 Ghz, 2 G. Ram, and adequate video card. I can see that the computer is not up to the task, but you work with what you got. Smart Proxy is essential for preview. So, I hope to learn from you folks. I doubt that I will contribute any wisdom. Bill

I joined to hopefully solve a problem I'm having with PI10. I've been using it since PI6 for many many years doing web design and web comics. It's very effective and I'm getting better as time goes on though I only just started using a graph tablet.

For my own pleasure, I make DVDs to keep good memories of my trips with Ulead Video Studio. As I discovered very good subjects on this forum, i decided to join it.

My name is Charles Sammut, I'm 45 and live in Marrickville, Sydney Australia.

I work at the National Broadcaster the ABC. I started working here in 1994 in the Video Archives dept and have stayed within the department. For the last two years I've been in the News Library helping reports find stock footage for their stories. Before that I was Licensing stock footage to production companies outside the ABC. Helping these people not only find the right footage but also guiding them through copyright laws.

I spend way too much time infront of a computer. Became addicted to online roleplaying games back in 1997 and it's only been recently that I prefer to be a little more "productive". hehe

I've taught myself to create web-sites and I liked including a few animated gifs. For that I used to use Ulead Gif Animator. Always kept an eye out on Ulead products since then. Also liked using Corel Draw for creating logos and other artistic endevoures.

Video. Well video is something I have obviously worked with and partly due to my recent exposure to working closely with professional Video editors I thought this is something worth looking into. Especially when one also lookas at Youtube and some of the great work you can find there.

The catalyst to buying ulead video studio was when my buddy Morris died. He's a dog. My partner and I relaised we had no centralised record of his life. A year after we got a new puppy and there was no way we were going to make the same mistake and not document at least the first year of his life and then keep updates on significant events or milestones.

Started off with a Blog then it progressed to Video. Did a lot of resaerch on camcorders and that search led me to this forum. I was reminded of Ulead and decided to also try out Video studio.

My first project is a yet to be finished slide show of my holiday to Malta in 2005. My second was a 60th birthday retrospective which went down very well. My third ever project was the recent Welcome to My Town competition and have since done a Family Chistmas special from 42 year old footage I paid to have transferred....that brought the house down. I've now just finished a project for a friends 40th Birthday called 40 Lanterns.

Now got sucked into recording a wedding ceremony...an elder couple I videoed last weekend. I'll cut that to a 3 minute punk song...that will surprise them. LOL!

I have been lucky to have minimum problems with VS and the program has allowed me a new venue of expression. It's powerful enough for my needs...I'm definately a "keep it simple stupid" kind of guy. Plus..I know have lots of video of my doggy....and family.

Hello;
I am Joseph, 58, retired and live in British Columbia, Canada. I found some old tapes from my old analog camcorder days and am looking forward to putting them on DVD. I am just in the trial phase of VideoStudio 11+ to see what it can do.
