I just had to pop in and thank the developers. Almost of my plugins (some going back to PSP 7) are working again, which have been iffy over the years in different versions! No issues with Nik plugins either. Love the speed of 2019 as well <3 :)

I'm using PSP 2018. The Help section really . . . helps.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 9.01, 10, 11, x4, x6, x7, x8, x9; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64; rejected PSP 2019.

So far ... and bearing in mind I haven't gotten very far yet ... I like that there is a very good support system readily available for users, both new and old. This forum, for instance, is marvelous. Making the move from Photoshop to PSP2019 has proven to be a steep learning curve for me as I have been using PhotoShop for 20+ years. Editing photos is not my day job ... though product photos are a large and necessary part of my website, which I only update twice a year.

I LOVE that I can customize my tool bar, getting rid of items I never use and replacing them with tools I always use. It speeds up the workflow process a great deal.

Many of the tools are intuitive (user-friendly), while "some" others ... well not so much. I am having a very hard time making the "smart select" tool work for me with any degree of accuracy, but I assume I am not "getting it" just yet. Most other tools I need are even better than what PhotoShop provides ... which was a very nice surprise. I think the text tool is terrific ... if a little buggy at times.

I very much appreciated being invited to a webinar earlier today and look forward to more like it. I have made good use of several YouTube videos and the video tutorials on this site as well. I would ask anyone producing a "how to" video to please set your tool icons to the "large" setting, so we can see what you are selecting. A lot of the tutorials are rather fast-paced and the users clearly have way better eyesight than I. Remember, we are looking at a small video, not a full screen. :D

I think the thing I like best of all is the "straighten tool". What a magnificent time saver that one is! I take almost all my photos onboard yachts ... and well, they move. I am always having to correct the horizon and that tool is going to save me hours and hours of editing time. Just love it! :D

ON the home page I love the gallery for extras, though some of the items are a bit expensive. I also love the Circular icons at the bottom for Tutorials and shortcuts etc.

I also love Pic to Painting, but would like to see more choices or be able to install more choices, being a member of a photo group I can recognise who has used the Pictopainting for their photos. It would also be nice to have variations as some of the plugins have to change it up a bit.

I love Photo Mirage too, but again would like some more settings to change it up a bit.

I am happy that you have provided 32bit and 64bit versions of these programs and that I am able to use some of my old 32 bit plugins in the 32bit version. I have been using PSP since the early days of Jasc. over the years I have amassed a large collection of Plugins, I keep one of the old versions installed so that I can use them all, it's a shame I cant use them all in the current versions of Corel, I realise this is down to the designers who create these plugins as they were made in 32bit, it would be great if there was some way to all of make them work or if Corel could create something similar.

I am loving using 2018 & 2019 I do enjoy working with the programs, and I use them on a lot for Photography, scrapbooking and graphic designs.

What I like about PSP7 (2000 version) is that it still runs on Win 10 -- I initially ran it on Win 95 and Win 98 (simultaneously).

PSP 2018 ran fine on Win7 (RIP) and runs fine on the unfortunate Win 10.

What do I like about it ? Not a lot quite frankly. Had to import from ProX9 just to be able to get my own crop sizings which I had put on it, can't find anything particularly new/extra, and as for window sizing to image - I wish ! It doesn't work.
What a waste of time and money just downloading this mess.
Who comes up with the notion that fixing something which isn't broken is a good idea ??????????
How about just enabling download of additions [ if there even were any ?] without screwing up settings/view/window etc etc etc which users have got comfortable with and don't want messed up ??????
I will be asking for a refund methinks, and if this awful thing is the norm for future versions, I won't be bothering.

What has changed, negatively? Do you find the enlargeable icons and text at all useful?

The interface for selecting files - no tabs to go to editing, the image window is square and refuses to change to the image size - that alone is enough for me to want to ditch the thing because it was driving me nuts trying to get it sorted last night [ after hours of install for the program and its useless peripherals ].
I compared settings to my main one [ x9], made sure they were the same, but no, the 2019 just won't respond as it should.
The Painter thing, ok some all-right effects, but no save option which makes it utterly useless.
As for any useful or even noticeable 'improvements', nope, can't find any, speed is no better that x9, and wasting a load of time to set the thing up to be remotely user friendly just isn't worth it. I don't even want to open the program again, I just want a refund and to be rid of it, just need to find how to get that sorted.

Apologies, I forgot to respond to your second question. I didn't notice enlargeable icons or text but they are fine as they are for me anyway on x9 [ I imported my x9 workspace ].
I have asked for a refund, this 2019 sham is a waste of hard drive space for me, there is nothing enhanced enough compared to x9 [ is there actually ANYTHING 'extra on it ?? ] so I will stick with that. Can't believe I was suckered into giving the 2019 a go :/

The File > Open... function merely invokes a Windows function. I see no tabs in the Open dialog in PSP 2018 or x9. The Open dialog that opens can be resized and reshaped in both versions of PSP; you simply have to grab it at the corner.

Q - could this be one more problem that comes when you move from Win7 (a great OS) to win 10 (a lousy OS).

Nobody else has these issues, so it's obviously either system specific with your installation, a bad installation, some incorrect settings in Preferences (and perhaps with the options available under the menu item Windows, or some combination of all of these factors.

And I'm not sure what you mean by "the interface for selecting files". Are you speaking about the Manage tab workspace, the Organizer ribbon, or the Open option in the main workspace menu?

In any event, it's definitely not the program itself that is the issue or we would have seen lots of complaints about issues similar to yours, and we haven't seen any.

In x9 I get the full listings options for my files and tabs for edit and manage.
The resize thing, nope, doesn't work on the 2019 thing. In x9 I scroll in and out, and when cropping, window stays true to the image size, On the 2019 thing the image changes size within the stupid square box. When making sure setting on both programs were identical for this element the 2019 thing refuses point blank to do what it should.
There is NOTHING new that I could find, nothing that x9 doesn't already have. Also, the price I was charged is different to the price it should have been according to x9, so that in itself should have been a warning to me not to get the thing. I have emailed for a refund so just have to wait for that. I will NEVER respond to any more Corel sales stuff again, I feel cheated not only on the price thing but on the program being an utter let down, and the hours of wasted time. I can't imagine why anyone with x9 [ for instance] would consider this thing to be of ANY benefit. Heck, my prehistoric 'Microsoft Digital Image 10' is better than the 2019 thing.

I never used Win7 myself so can't comment on that, my preference was 98SE, XP was a ok when set to 98SE user style, Win 10 is what I currently use but only because the machine was a present, otherwise I would still be using XP for as long as possible as I did with 98SE.

Or perhaps most people don't bother posting about it but just get a refund and get rid ?
I made sure the settings were the same as x9 so no errors there. I opened the thing earlier to triple check [ yes all was correctly selected ], and the main page said I wasn't online so some features were not available. Yep, I was indeed online, the program was wrong.
Again, there is nothing 'new', that's a crock as far as the sales pitch goes.

My usual basic usage on x9 generally, is to utilise:
crop, contrast, levels [ occasionally], sharpen, colour balance [ occasionally], Time machine photo effects [ occasionally], straighten, clone when needed, tone mapping occasionally, and I have used the red eye tool a couple of times.
I don't use the auto correct options because they never give good results.

I do have Aftershot 3 but I find it pointless so it sits there unused.

If I want to use effects, I go to my Microsoft Digital Image 10, its ancient yet the effects available are *far* superior to x9.

Therefore, can you tell me there is ANYTHING worthwhile in the 2019 thing ? Can you tell me what the supposed 50 'new' things are ?

I'm not having a go at you guys who have responded so please don't think that I am, its Corel I am angry with, I feel utterly duped.

Edited to say I had a quick look at other threads and the crop issue did come up and looks like a fix had to be done for that, so as a new download that fix should have been incorporated but clearly wasn't so again, nope not an error at my end, definitely the program at fault.

Edited again to say, downloaded the 'fix', nope it didn't fix it. That's the last time I am opening the thing.
