Announcement of tool MediaStudio Pro

Hallo,
MSP8 has a nice feature: you can define dvd chapter points, which can be reused later by dws2. This way its much easier to place the chapter points accurate. Also MSP can insert I-frames at these positions during rendering.
But there is also a bitter pill: When you have finished your dvd and now detect e.g. that your title runs to fast, MSP will not shift these points when you change the duration of your title. There is no easy and comfortable way.
STOP
There was no easy and comfortable way. But now I have developped a small tool just for this.
Now you can import and export dvd chapter points, edit them, shift them (all or just a few) around...

You can find the tool here:
http://www.hans-helge-mueller.de/progs/ ... hp?lang=en
The MD5 hash for the exe is: d50cd7c9b47e738993154dcd52a7df9c

Note: if you use it for non english versions of MSP it would be nice if you could give a short feedback, since I could not test it with these versions.

Enjoy it and a happy new year!!

Helge,

Thanks. This could prove to be a very useful tool and I admire your efforts. I just wish Corel could learn from this. It's sad to see innovative thinking being displayed by forum members rather than the software developer.

Thanks again.

Would this also work when using other DVD authoring apps, like DVDMF?

To vidoman:
I do not work with DVDMF, but as far as I know all newer Ulead DVD apps recognize the .upd files.
(Did you notice - when you create .mpg files with MSP, there is allways a identical named file .upd. It contains a description telling its "Ulead Private Data". This is where the chapter points are transfered. For .avi files it seems to be integrated into the avi files themself.)
I thought also about directly eding the .upd files, but I do not have any documentation and looking at them I understand them only partially. Also they seemed at the end not so valuable to me, as they do not contain the labels.
If you work with DVD generating apps, which do not understand the .upd files, perhaps they allow you read in the chapter points from ascii files. Even if none of the formats my tool generates is directly recognized, you have at least a chance to adopt one with a text editor (e.g use global search and replace).
