MovieFactory 7 Wish List For future Versions

Postby sjj1805 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:54 pm

Now that MovieFactory 7 has been released I have locked the previous thread and started this new one.
Every so often I have contact with a Ulead employee or software engineer regarding new versions. It is always handy if I can point them to a thread such as this.
Please keep any suggestions sensible - plus this is not a place to complain about what YOU may consider to be bugs or faults. Those items should be placed in a new thread or tagged onto an existing one dealing with that same issue.

I know compatibility with MKV and MP4 files would be great!

Good
A bit better interface

Con's
No option for 720x480i/p, 1280x720p support
No option for Do not covert compliant AVCHD after all some of us now have Hardware AVCHD Encoder like the Hauppauge HD-PVR.
Can't over ride auto add charpters with AVCHD file.

Almost forgot, 'fullscreen interface'! Working from that puny window is rather annoying!

True multi-part rendering across all CPUs

Postby ruggy1 » Mon Aug 31, 2009 12:59 pm

Most people have multi-core CPUs these days. I would like to see MF split the render across all CPUs and then reassemble at the end. My rendering life would be heaven then!
MF2, MF3, MF4, MF5, VS7, VS10+, VS12, Nero Vision Express. Ricoh and Sony 16x DVD recorder, Sony HC5 High def camera. Also Canopus ADVC110 for AV/DV input through firewire

Some of my wish list is already recorded, but I would like to edit AVCHDlite and create AVCHD disks at 720p without reencoding.

Blank Menu Template?

Postby Viridel » Tue Sep 08, 2009 1:36 am

Does this version have a Blank Menu option? And if not, why not?

Also, are menus in v7 still limited to 30 seconds?

Blank Menus

Postby montgal55 » Mon Nov 23, 2009 3:31 pm

I concur with Viridel. . .

a blank menu option is greatly needed. Currently, you are highly restricted in your imagination in creating menus.

Or, have the ability to delete or modify template elements.

If you mean you want to start with a blank screen and add your menu items - buttons, titles, thumbnails etc. then you need PhotoImpact to be able to do so.

In DMF 7 and 7 Pro it should be possible for the mode "Slideshow" that not only chapters can be made, but that there is also a possibility to create Chapter menu's just like the option for video.

As I explained in a previous email, I purchased MF6 and then bought MF PLUS as an update and cannot install it. I was wondering if "PLUS" is indeed an update.

IN ANY CASE, perhaps I should simply give up on V6 and purchase V7. If I decide to go this route, perhaps you can tell me:

1-Where I can purchase a full version of "7" with printed manuel, etc.
2-What is the EXACT name of the product?
3-Will it install if I have v6 on my computer?
4-Will "7" work on an XP machine?
5-What are the limitations/bugs in the product?

My interests are not very sophisticated. Only editing and adding an intro and subtitles. Very simple.

Thanks in advance.

David, I give you the answers per itemnr: 1) Corel New Zealand or Australia, 2) Corel DVD MovieFactory 7 (or 7 Pro), my advise is Full and no upgrade. 3) skipp all previous versions of MovieFactory, 4) Yes, but with 2 ServicePacks (updates from http://tinyurl.com/y8uq62j), SP2 is compatibility patch for W7, 5) I experienced no bug except the impossibility to make chapters in a slideshow. With a special "Steven"-tric this "dream came true" however. You will have seen my posts on this subject I guess.
Regards and I wish you good luck. Regards Wim Kok

Thank you so much.
Somehow --I am not certain exactly what I did-- I managed to install MFv6-PLUS. I think by obliterating all traces of v6-basic using the delete function (rather than window's uninstal feature) I was able to do this.

Thisleads me to one last Q:

MFv6 came with a "bonus" CD with two files: (a) DVDcopy5-Silver, and (b) winDVD8-Silver.

There is absolutely no documentation whatsoever about these files/programs.

Can you tell me what they are for?

Again, thanks for your patience.
I am new to this whole world of Video and I sincerely appreciate your help.
