Wallpaper Roller v4.6

Postby cosmicDread » Fri Feb 17, 2017 6:18 am

Script Name: 'Wallpaper Roller v4.6'
Compatability: PaintShop Pro X5+
Requirements: Place the main 'Wallpaper Roller v4.6' in a trusted script folder.

This program is written for execution by the Corel's PaintShop Pro X5+ computer programs. The program is designed to create wallpaper, compositions, and textures. One can create wallpaper for a device using one or more images. The program will resize an image to fit a provided resolution, use roller styles to generate abstract backdrops, make 3D effects to add illusion, and provides tools for image placement.

Here are the latest changes made to Wallpaper Roller:

Wallpaper Roller v4.6:
- Fixed an overflow error that occurred when Composition or Image Margins exceeded image size.
- Fixed an issue with the file corruption checker, where Session files would come up corrupted when they weren't.
- The Format Options and the Session file versions changed.
- Fixed an issue when placing images (same issue as in v4.53).
- Fixed an problem with the Selection rectangle used in image placement where an odd pixel was dropped from the image.
- Changed the behavior of Rad Wave, Curly Cues, and Maze Mirror, and RPG Wiz to create an effect even if there's no images placed.
- Did a make-over on the Per Cell windows.
- Switched methods for Layout calculating, rectangle drawing, and pixelating. Before, the math typically ignored odd row and column division that produce a remainder. Now, this remainder is averaged into the plot using an object: 'OddRC'. The PSP Pixelate function is mostly replaced with a 'pixl8' routine that also distributes this remainder.
- Added a new 3D Effect: RPG Wiz.

The main window:

The Layout group is new v4.6.

Format Options:

The menus have changed appearance in v4.6.

Best wishes,

The download is temporarily off-line due to a complex problem in the code that needs fixing. Wallpaper Roller should be back by April 1, 2019.

During my research, I saw a post by someone who wanted a program that could create this type of format:

layout.jpg
I was googling for layout inspiration when I saw this image.

Here is how you can do that with merge cells:

Simplified and clarified, the Merge Cells window in v4.6.

With custom cell placements:

This is the result of the make-over in v4.6.

And lastly, cell margins:

Same tools as before, but cleaner.

This is an example of the layout preview as rendered in PSP 2019.

This is the 'Layout' preview:

In the upper-left, the Document title is new.

This is a quick 'Recycled Tech' example:

The results are unpredictable, but that's part of the fun.

This is an example of 'Sand Blast' 3D effect:
Sand Blast 800 x 800.jpg
The glassy frame material is semi-transparent.
Smooth the rough spots, soften the edges, reflect the light. This is art, no wait, life.

This is an example of the 3D effect 'Rad Wave':
Rad wave.jpg
The customizable frame uses 'Wave' and 'Twirl' to create interest.

Here is the Used Stencil 3D Effect in action:
sample.jpg
The stencil font is used to impress but is not part of the actual effect.

An example of the revamped Maze Mirror:
Maze Mirror example.jpg
One can adjust Maze Mirror's line thickness.
Smooth the rough spots, soften the edges, reflect the light. This is art, no wait, life.

This is a render of Floating City. I used a cartoon graphic as a backdrop. I added a shadow layer under the Focal Image. Floating City creates layers of transparent circles and squares based on the luminosity and color of the image:
Floating City maze.png
Maze Mirror was used to make the frame.

RPG Wiz is made in the spirit role-playing games. I kind of enjoy watching the maze draw itself:
RPG Wiz 2.jpg
The No Pic option in Format Options was selected. The background is Egyptian Tile.
