Hi

I managed to convert a 35y old VHS tape in VideoStudio X10, and I'm have an issue.
The image with less then 20% if it's real height, it's not trimmed, but flattened.
I tried different VHS and acquisition devices and and in all the problem persists.
This is tape is a copy I received many year ago from an original ( that it's lost ) in NTSC format. They made a copy to PAL system, the copy I have, but I do not know if it was done the wright way.
How to enlarge this to fit int it's original 4:3 format ?

Antonio -- since you used Video Studio for the conversion, I have transferred your post to the Video Studio forum as you are more likely to receive answers here.

Assuming that the whole image is there completely but just squashed top to bottom then try this

put the video in the top timeline and Double click on it

this will open the 'Options' panel which has two tabs - they are 'Video' and 'Attribute'

by default the panel always opens with the Video tab open - change to the Attribute tab

You will now see a small box next to the words 'Distort Clip' - click the little box so that a tick appears in it

you will now see that a number of little yellow square icons have appeared on your preview screen

hover the mouse cursor over the one at the centre of your image and the cursor changes to a double ended up/down arrow

press the left mouse key and hold down while you slide the mouse down - the edge of the video will move down - drag the block to the edge of the preview window

repeat for the top edge pushing up to the top edge of the preview window

save your project

hopefully that will cure the problem - let us know how you get on

I have video studio pro X9. I am having a problem when I insert a video into the timeline and it is very small in the preview panel. I have tried the suggestion given with regard to ticking attributes and then distort video but this does not allow the clip to fill the whole preview panel .
There is a white border appears on a black screen in portrait shape on the preview panel which holds the clip inside and does distort it. This does not happen all the time and I am wondering if it is something to do with the transfer of the clip from camera to computer? I have to say that all my clips are taken with the same camera (and I assume the same size as I do not change anything on the camera) and some clips fill the preview screen and others are reduced in size. I have never had this problem before and have always used various versions of video studio editor over the years albeit in a very amateur way as they are just to keep memories of my grandchildren. Would appreciate some advice if possible.

Many thanks
