Eventually I want to put them on a DVD just to save room on my hard drive. I have 3 of them and C and E have about 3 Gb left between them.
I still haven't really figured out the movie template thing yet nor have I been able to figure out how to cut my clips up so just the piece I want is a stand alone piece in the time line and what I trimmed gets saved separately.
One off thread question. Does VS have a cache? The one time that I was able to suscessfully create a stand alone clip I've lost the parts that I had cut it out of and now I need them but, I can't find it in any of my files. I tried using VS Help but nothing came up (the tape was taped over).
If you only have 3 GB left between drive C and E, it is a wonder you can do video work at all. It is high time to at least clean out the drives and/or get a new drive.
If you have a video and you remove sections out of that clip, the removed sections do not get saved anywhere. You of course should still have the original video which has not been modified. The "cut" parts are not saved but they are still part of the original file. What do you mean you "lost the parts that I had cut it out of". Did you delete the original source file?
