While I understand and fully support the idea of feedback to the Corel team from inside the interface, yours is not the first time such a suggestion has been made... and I suspect it will be ignored again.

The most interaction we have ever managed to gain with the Corel developers is through this very thread -- the Wishlist, as we understand that it is the only thread that Corel execs and techs ever consult on a (fairly) regular basis. Plus of course when the Admins and Mods draw some particularly egregious situation direct to the attention of Corel execs.
As for your suggestion of standard Windows keyboard shortcuts being integrated into the VS framework, again it is not a new suggestion. Like you, I have never understood why, in successive versions of the program, this has never been implemented fully. But at least we are part way there. You may be aware that while Ctrl+A does not Select All in the Library window, the other standard Windows move of selecting a clip, pressing and holding Shift, then selecting another clip down the line, automatically selects all clips in between. And selecting a clip, then pressing and holding Ctrl, allows you then to select a number of other clips at random and have them all grouped to drag and drop or delete. And in the timeline at least, Ctrl+A does in fact work to select all clips...
