Yes, that made me realize I had an old version (1.0.1) installed, the current version is 1.1.0 with a lower case in the identifier.

Bought a new Gaming keyboard (G100) and would so love to be able to set it up to do my favorite Actions. Unfortunately Mouse click when selecting an action to record does not work as is. Would seem that the data in the .xmp file would work. Anyone have experience with such with a gaming keyboard ?

Love the new layout .. so quick now to just select the tab category one wants to deal with.

Thanks, ianr

Go here. Assuming you have already registered, you will need to login (if not, then register), then click the link that refers to the "special gift". Download it, double click it or open AFS pro, and click "File", then "Install Plugin". It will prompt you, then click "update", restart, and you should be golden.

Oh yes, and change that captial "C" in Corel in your customToolsUI.txt to a lower case "c".

Thank you grooveman, I was going to the Plug In site without logging in and it didn't show the version number. it just said "free with ASP". As soon as I logged in it offered the upgrade.

With the help of everybody here I customized my tabs. My intent was to either get all plugins on one tab or ensure I did not have to scroll through any one of the tabs. I hate the way the wheel would jump tabs. I also found most of the plugin names insteresting but not indicative of their purpose. So ultimately I made sure the tab described the purpose. I also had to get creative so no one tab had hidden (scroll down to find) plugins at my screen resolution and window sizing. Also I believe I have every plugin that is currently available for ASP (AFAIK) assigned to a custom tab.

I found the easiest way to find out the "name" of a plugin was to go to System Info. I copied the plugin info into a text file and then could copy and paste into my "customToolsUI.txt" as it was built. Some interesting discoveries:

*Tab order in the file, dictates tab order in ASP.
*Plugin order in the file, dictates plugin order in ASP.
*Extra lines in the file could help in organizing your file with no harm.
*Any plugin not specified in the file landed in the Plugin1 tab This made it easy locate the unassigned plugins one at a time and assign them to my customized tabs.
*If you use my or anyone elses file and do not have one of plugins ASP will ignore that line in your file without consequence.

Hmm... looks like I've been missing Sadman's plugins. Texa in particular looks very intersting, but hard to classify. Because my laptop screen is small, I want to keep my tabs to a minimum, and I can't afford to put only one plugin on a tab, so I think I'll put it on Finish2... I find scrolling for tabs much more cumbersome than scrolling within tabs. I just keep the most frequently used tools toward the top to minimize scrolling within tabs...

Updated.

Thanks.

Is there a way to resize(enlarge) the Presets Window, like it was possible in Bibble?

Hmm.... Not that I'm aware of... If AFX hasn't chimed in yet, I'd bet there isn't. ;)

You might try asking this question on the bibble forums if you get no joy here... It says bibble, but there is still a large group of people posting there, even for ASP.

Updated to add the wonderful new plugin by Andreas, asGPS.

After so many additions (and some plugins violating easy classification) I feel my tab organization is starting to break-down, so I will reorg and respost soon, but for now, the current setup has asGPS under "Metadata". I guess it comes down to what bothers you most: The number of tabs (and scrolling for them) or scrolling within tabs, of the two, I hate the former most....

I don't believe there is. I've tried a few times with no luck. Seems like the sizes of hte tool panels are locked.

where to find the info for customToolsUI

Postby nyukuri on Mon May 07, 2012 7:54 am

With the help of you guys, I also organized my tools and plugins as it suits me.

But now I have two new plugins in "Plugins 1" and want to classify them as well. Where can I find (in general) the info needed for the customToolsUI for any new plugin I come across?
.....
.....
PS: I found the solution to my question! Thank you anyway :)

Keep in mind that Aftershot, only a short while ago, was known as Bibble (before the Corel Buy-out and some time after even), so some of these are still posted on the Bibble forum under threads started some time ago. It will be nice when all of these can be found in one central location (something that is slowly coalescing), but until then you have to search the plugin page, the aftershot forum and the bibble forums (which each have plugin topics)

Texa
Typewriter
USM
Grid
Mix
Nuance

Bear in mind that some of these links are moving targets, and that some authors are good at keeping the download on the first or second post, while others have multiple links throughout the thread (the last usually being the most current). Others choose to host the plugins on their own servers... so while these links are good today, they may or may not be a month or two from now.

Good luck.
