Video Studio X5 - mpeg-4 HD output properties

Postby habanr on Thu May 03, 2012 12:53 pm

I'm testing demo version of this product and I would like to know how to change output parameters of mpeg-4 codec (Share->Create Video File->MPEG-4-> MPEG-4 HD). I live in Europe and my video source is Full HD 25fps, but Video Studio's mpeg-4 codec has only parameter constants 30fps.

There are two ways to achieve this, go to SHARE > CREATE VIDEO FILES > CUSTOM or create your own Movie Template.. you can visit http://pnoy.me/1F for more information on Movie Template.

Thank you, but the problem remains. I have created my own MPEG-4 video template - but still is impossible to set 25fps for frame size 1920x1020. The only fps configuration is "grayed" 30fps. 25fps option is available only for frame size 1920x720. The situation is the same for all H.264 compressions.

There is another way to make a template. But first you need to have a sample file with the properties you wish to include in the template. Then choose Tools > Make Movie Templates Manager. Then in the dialogue box which appears, click 'Add' down at the bottom. In the new dialogue box which appears, click the '...' button beside 'File Path' and navigate to where your sample video is stored, then select it. The file path should now appear in the dialogue box. Give the Template a sensible name you will remember. Then click OK then Close to get out of the dialogue boxes. Next time you open VS's Editing module, and you want to produce an identical video, choose Share > Create Video File, and in the drop-down menu your new template should appear down towards the bottom.

Note that templates made in this way cannot be later edited. If you try, the template will revert to default DVD SD properties and you would have to make a new template to get back to what you had.

Living in Europe have the same problem.Corel has apparently forgotten that we in Europe use the PAL standard, which means 25fps.
It is not possible to choose the correct settings for an HD project. (eg.1920x1080) It's impossible to create an MPEG-4 video template with the right settings.
Tried to make a template like Ken suggests but that doesn't works because when I try to open the file path I get the message :Unable to open the file . file format mismatched.File properties : H.264 High Profile video-1920x1080-16:9-25fps.
Contacting Corel for help concerning the problem is a laugh. To my question , 5 times I get the message:

[i]I'm writing to remind you that I am waiting for information or feedback about your support case {Case.CaseNumber}.

Would you please reply to the orginal email with the outstanding information or to let me know if your issue has been resolved? I will assume there has been resolution if I don’t hear back from you within the next 5 days, at which point I will go ahead and close your case.

Hi oldcop49

try using Quick Time Mov and Mpeg4 Visual

You have to use User Define to set the frame size.

QuickTime Movie Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 25 fps
Frame-based
MPEG 4 Visual
50% Quality, 24 Key Frame Rate
None, 8.000 KHz, 8 bits, Stereo

If the video is for You Tube using 1280 x 720 may produce suitable quality video
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps

----------------------------------

Customer support, there is an ongoing post here, maybe you could contribute
