AfterShot Pro 1.0.1 is ready!

But the help menu entry (F1) always redirect to the online version (http://product.corel.com/help/AfterShot ... index.html), not the local one (file:///opt/AfterShotPro/supportfiles/webhelp/fr/index.html). Or I missed something ? Or it's by design ?

I just installed the new version and when I look at help mine also goes to the online version, not a local version on my computer. Does this mean that if I don't have internet access I can't look at help?

By the way, thanks for the update! I will do some experimenting with it over the coming days.

Processing D800 raw files is very impressive. On my i7-920 the example RAW file from dpreview (42 MB) is converted in 1 s using the default settings. Using registered Noise Ninja instead of standard sharpening increases the time to 6 s (to be expected).

This is what I got from Dave when I asked about the HR Range slider:
"If it's set too high it will brighten pixels too much where only one channel is blown - IOW, with no exposure adjustment bright parts of the image will become too bright (appear to be blown) if the HR Range is set too high."
And if set to low, the effect is not strong enough, the current default seems t be the best trade-off.

The update shows my supported Olympus and Panasonic RAW files in the file system thumbnails, but not my now supported Canon S100 RAW files. I can open the Canon RAW files okay with the File > Open File command, but why don't the thumbnails show up even after refreshing the folder? Strange...

I'm not sure if this is the answer your looking for, but for my Sony Raw files I had to re-import them to get the thumbnails to show up. There might be an easier way, but thats what I did.

• A one-pixel wide or tall image artifact that appeared through the center of some images
• Localization issues
• Instability when removing Heal/Clone layers
• Demosaicing – stability and processing time

First: if images from supported cameras are not visible, then delete your cache folder or try to re-import them. If that's still not helping, PM me and we'll dig into more details

Other bugs: ya'll have reported more bugs than were fixed in this release. We really appreciate all bug reports - and just because we didn't close every one of them doesn't mean that those bug reports are not valuable. We decided it was critical to get this release with it's 20 additional cameras out to ya'll as quickly as possible, so some known, repeatable issues are still present. Every software release goes through that same balancing act (hardware released, too).

For the new HR process: the controls are now more of a parallel to how Fill Light works: there's one control on the Basic tab, and two on the Tone tab. The 'Highlights' affects the amount of recovery that's performed, and the HR Range controls how far down the histogram to adjust. Recovering highlights involes pulling the brightest areas down a bit in exposure - and a high HR Range value will affect more of the brighter images, while a small value will focus the exposure and recovery only on the very brightest pixels.

Thanks for the tips. Worked like a charm. I can now check the OM-D E-M5 sample files that I have.

I think you have hit the balance well this time. And I expect the next update will contain further bug-fixes and more new Camera Models.
