They are installed in the vft_plug folder in the VideoStudio program folder. I don't know the path where they are installed in Windows 7, but in Windows XP they are installed in:

C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X5\vft_plug

You must add the path during NewBlueFx installation. It will not automatically install into X5 unless you enter the full path. Only X4 is automatic.

Also remember that X5 comes with some NewBlueFX already. If you install the trial, you could possibly end up with double those effects in your FX library. The effects have the same friendly name, but the names of the files are different on your hard drive. I had to delete the duplicates from my hard drive, then rebuild the "ulvft.dat" file in VideoStudio:

C:\Documents and Settings\Kingston\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro\15.0\en-US\ulvft.dat

To rebuild the ulvft.dat file, I rename the existing one to "ulvft.dat.old", then started VideoStudio. It takes a while for the new file to be rebuilt. You will see a progress bar as it is being rebuilt.

I really can't help you because I have no idea what steps you have taken or even if you understand what I'm telling you.

Hi

I am using XP but the process should be the same........
As a test i downloaded the Art Effects filter.
After downloading and installing a folder is created on C:\Program Files\NewBlue
This folder contains the filters files.
If you wish to run the installation again go to C:\Program Files\NewBlue\Art Effects for Windows\ULead
Double click InstallAssist.exe

--------------------------------------------

During installation you are asked to select / choose a program to use the filter.

For some unknown reason X5 is not selected, I added the path.

The install completed, on opening X5 the filter could be seen in the FX library

The filter I installed was called Art Effects

For the NewBlue Stabilizer for Windows, you should contact support at http://www.NewBluefx.com and ask them if they could please provide you with

Version 1.4 Build 110207.

Some of the later versions don't work correctly or crash VideoStudio. I don't know if NewBluefx support will provide you with that version, but they might. That's the version and build that works for me in VideoStudio X4 and X5.

lata, your solution doesn't work for me either. And trust me, I'm doing everything right. It's amazing, that since the beginning of time Corel and NewBlueFX developers can't solve such problem and waste their users time. In X4 there were some problems (eg. separate folders for some nb effects/transitions wasn't creating and you had to search for them in "All" folder), but in X5 you can't install them at all!

Same here...

I can't install NewBlue: Video Essentials III.

Videostudio crashes instantly when I trie to run the program. When I remove all the NewBlueVE3.vft files out of the X5 vft_plug directory it starts working again.

Had already other blueFX installed...this is the first time nothing works.

This is what I get in a split second on the screen. Too fast to read .. I needed Print screen button several times just get it right in time.
